Hi folks,

Summer fun, a little game, and a chance for everyone to win the wonderfull SYNTHESIZER I used to make these clips

To win, you'll just have to find :

1/ The name of the Synthesiser
WALDORF LARGO

2/ How many different presets will be demoed in the 4 audio clips I will post.

The first one who will give the two correct answers will win the synthetizer.( Or the one who is the closest for question 2 ) Game will end as soon as one persons wins or next Thursday/Friday ( In case its the closest number to question 2 who wins ) ( in case two or more people are the closest, the 1rst one who posted the closest number will win) . You can vote once a day ( KVR stamps ).

Hehe, haven't seen that, yet. Nor am I saying he is spamming, but he is "very present on behalf of Xils" to put it htat way

After actually listening to the audio, I am not so sure it is Xils, it sounds harsh and digital at times, not sure the analog-type Xils synths can do that. Or maybe some nasty sync mode?

Since you mentioned Tone2, I will go for Electra 2, just for fun, as I will certainly not count presets, what an odd idea...

Well, what you call spam I call information. ( Unless you can find a lot of threads proposing more than 10mns of presets in isolation and xxx sound examples of a given synthesizer, I will continue to call them information. With sound.)

Then, I've organised a lot of *Guess the Synth* games with various synths from various companies. Facts. And other people have organised similar games too.

By spoiling this thread, what you actually do is preventing companies, whose reps watch these threads, to have the will to offer to KVRians who want to play, and win a synthetizer. So, you directly spoil regular readers who just want to play/win/have fun and, meanwhile, still get some sound information on a certain synthesizer. Well, just so that you know...

As for the company you mention, just show me one thread where I do so. None ? End of.

And finally, I work with, and not *for*, a lot of companies, that's true, AND always on synthesizers I love, a privilege I really enjoy, as would probably everyone in my position.

Back to game, for those who want to play.

Dont forget guys, that you have only heard DEMO A, and there's still B, C and D to come.

So the number of presets demoed is the total number in the 4 demos. A shoot at random for the moment, but more and more precise when other demos will be ULed.

It is sad that some people just want to spit sour grapes all over this forum anytime somebody does something nice like this. I'd love to win a synth but I have no clue what this synth is so won't even attempt to guess.

So yes, for those who want to play and maybe win a nice synth, let the game continue.

Sure, the thread is wrecked because of one post

And as far as I'm concerned, even if it's a minority view, which I'm sure it isn't, those companies you mention shouldn't be so cheap as to submit to shill tactics and spamming and should buy regular site advertising like their competitors or get their own forum.
If the companies you pimp for had their own company forums here they could do what they wanted with no issue, perceived or otherwise. In the general instruments forum, it's just tacky, completely obvious as a tool and an insight in to venders true moral compass. Wonder why these people don't have official kvr forums? Do you have any idea?

But of course, those over invested will think differently, and good for you.

If anyone wants a discussion you should do it by pm as I'm not replying in this topic again. Also, I don't want the hard of thinking for themselves wearing out the red report button and b*tch moaning for an unwarranted ban... Like you know you will

Sure I have, if KVR is shut one day, or goes bankrupt, they wont have any more forum, nor post history, communication history, nor everything else. So its probably better for serious companies to have their own forum, and manage it. Like NI do and plethora of others, and not depend on anyone.( Did you notice that most big companies don't have a *forum on kvr* btw ? or not ? ) And thanks for leaving this thread. Best decision you could make at this point imho.

Who knows ? 'must be' is incorrect though, as I've made a lot of Guess the synth games with synths from various companies. Just take your chance. I'll be on the road today so no hints or new clips until (French) tonite at best.
