Hi,

Does anyone have any, or know of any good vocal samples, that are dry and clean (no effects like reverb, delay etc), and single note, such as oohs or aahs, laas, wees, etc? They need to be copyright free too!

If so could you PM me with more information? If we end up using them for Cameleon 5000 we might sort you out with some goodies :D

Many thanks,

Jim

Have you tried the CM mag cd's? They often have stuff like that on, copyright free.

Thanks Kriminal. Unfortunately, tts not enough for it simply to be copyright free. We still have to approach the people who created it and ask their permission. In this case, I think its unlikely that they'd be willing to let us do so. If someone from CM sees this and thinks that I could use some of it for analysis in Cameleon, then please PM me.

Thanks
Ben

Female or male?
Just oohhhs and ahhhs?
Sample length?
I've got some laying around that I've made, but I don't know exactly what you are looking for.
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".

Well you already have my analyzed results in the presets. ;)

And good thing you only said "dry and clean" and not "in tune"...

But hey, if you want the originals (sampled twice for each note over two octaves or so), I could send 'em.

Hi,

We have a promising lead on some existing samples that we'll try out soon. Lots of thanks for everyone's suggestions though, great response! :D

Freeztar - if you do have some samples lying around then yeah, it'd be interesting to try them, basically quite short (few seconds, ~2-5?), dry, single note is what we're after. No particular ooh or ahh, male or female, experimentation is the order of the day really :) We may not use them in the final patches though, but if we do then we'll try and give you a little pressie to say thanks 8) Could you PM me if you fancy leting us try a couple out.

Markleford - yeah your 'Laa' preset is still in there :) And very useful it is too! The patch contains all your multisamples (and three different voices!) already so we wouldn't need the original wavs again, but many thanks for offering :D

Cheers

Doru Malaia may be worth a shot. He’s a forum member who offers freely downloadable vocal samples at his website ( www.dorumalaia.com ). They’re mostly (if not all) effected samples but if you drop him a line he might be able to help you with some dry ones.

Hi yossarian,

yeah I did have a look at his site. His vocal samples are really beautiful, but have far too many effects on them to be correctly resynthesised in Cameleon.

I might email him about dry samples though, thanks for suggesting that! I hadn't thought of that...

Cheers
