No Sony Walkman, but I still have two Panasonic portable cassette player, one of them being the vintage Panasonic RQ-J55 Silver Walkman Portable Cassette Player which very old but still works like a charm! Technology was sturdy back in the early eighties.

There may be some crate around that still contains a modest version but the only one I know for sure I still own is one of these that is unfortunately not fully functional:

Years ago a guy having a garage sale of electronic stuff had one in a box of things known to have issues and was practically giving it away. Never have gotten around to getting it fixed.

Once upon a time, a Walkman Pro with some nice stereo mic was known to have been snuck in to quite a few concerts by more than a few music lovers.

I have a portable Sony CD player I still use, but it's not in front of me right now, so I'm unsure if it's branded as "discman" or not (it also has an optical output, so it's not an oldie). It's small enough to carry I guess, but I don't walk with music.

I also have two Sony minidisc portables, one of which I still use with the collection of minidiscs I recorded CDs onto. It doubles as a field recorder with a video camera microphone, since it records to HiMD discs in wav format and can be dumped to computer with primitive open sores freeware.

The old George Benson tape I got at the same day works fine too!

I had something similar in the mid-80s.

Weird that they came with a shoulder strap implying that they should be worn like a handbag, but that made them quite loose, so that they swung a bit back and forward when walking, and that naturally meant that the tape would flutter a little

I still have my Walkman buried around here somewhere. It's one of the early models. I also have a newer handheld dictation cassette recorder (not microcassette) which I sometimes bounce sounds to, a la BoC.

Yep, a Sony "MegaBass" Walkman. Clumsy thing. Are they vintage yet, can I offer them for insane amounts of money on eBay? I mean, it's the real stuff, fully analog signal path!
