Get an issue of Computer Music magazine. They include a bunch of really nice free software every month. The rest of the magazine is pretty good too!

I started hooking up absolute beginners (street vandals/rappers, that want to do their beats when they hang out) with MuLab and it's really positive response by now, seems to grasp basics pretty well and quite interested to get deeper into matter, guess Mulab is inviting and easy on the eye, offers enough stock content and it's pretty light on even worst systems
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here?
