Guess the Synth 21 ( Waldorf LARGO - 60 audio demos - Winner : Taifunk)

The only thing I know with 100% certainty is that whatever synth it is, is at least partially sample based if not completely sample based. There is no way traditional saw, square, etc. waveforms can make some of these sounds. So this rules out a ton of synths like Syn'X 2, Oxium, Mini Syn'X, all the arturia synths, synths like Diva, Zebra 2, Bazille, Hive, etc.
I'm just not sure if it's a pure rompler like Nexus 2 or maybe a hybrid like Omnisphere 2. It doesn't have the Omni sound to my ears and I'm not really familiar with Nexus 2 enough to say yes or no.
I'm 99% sure it's not Serum or any wavetable synth for that matter.
And of course for all I know it could be a hardware workstation by Roland or Korg. I don't think it was said whether the synth was hardware or software definitively.
Anyway, for my guess, I'm going to go with Nexus 2 and 48 presets.
I will say this. I am dying to know what this synth is because I really love the way it sounds.

Yeah, somehow I doubt that too.chk071 wrote:I have my doubts that Lotuzia would be willing to pay and ship a hardware synth to your front door if you win.
I'm listening to a 7 minute Nexus 2 demo and unless this person is just picking out all the trance presets my guess is probably wrong. I'm going to look for a demo that maybe has a wider selection.
Sheeesh, 7 minutes of trance presets. Can they give a LITTLE variety?

It's not a hardware synthesizer. It's a software synthesizer.chk071 wrote:I have my doubts that Lotuzia would be willing to pay and ship a hardware synth to your front door if you win.

Yes, the aim is to show that this synthesizer can sound in a lot of different ways, and that it has a very large 'sonic palette'. Also you can use it to produce a lot of presets that could be associated with romplers, but with -imho- a much more organic, and less static, sound ( though you can make some romplers, not all, live and breathe as well with a bit of care in programming)wagtunes wrote:The only thing I know with 100% certainty is that whatever synth it is, is at least partially sample based if not completely sample based. Then, ..... it's not a rompler. But that the sound might be associated with omni or nexus I take as a -big- compliment, as these two synths somewhat represent the top of their associated market.( and are very pricey )

Well, whatever this synth is, should I not win it, I will be getting it. And if by some odd chance I already own it, I need to dive back into it to see what it was I couldn't get out of it the first time because I am truly stumped.Lotuzia wrote:Not Syn'X 2, not Korg Monopoly, not Omnisphere, Not Nexus, not Diva, not Hive, not MiniSynx, not Oxium, not SEM V, not Matrix 12, not Spire.Kullervo wrote:Syn’X 2 *** 64

Not MiniSyn'X ? Aaaw. How dare you !
Ok, it's not Serum. Well, maybe it is. But it's not ! Becase Serum is so so so so (pick any invective of your choice) KVR:ish.
Besides (and this is a killing argument ) I do not want to win a Serum !
However I would like to win a..hm...(checks the menu) ok...Garçon; donnez-moi un zèbre avec 64 présélections et une fourche s'il vous plaît. And don't forget the rosé must be 12 degree C.
Where are the oysters?
Second thougt - I don't want a Zebra either.
Ok, make it a....Oxium !

It's not Ace, it's not Zebra (to SFD), it's not a u-he synth, it's not a Xils-Lab synth ( but for those interested I've made a soundset for Ace)Kullervo wrote:Ok,Lotuzia wrote:Not Syn'X 2, not Korg Monopoly, not Omnisphere, Not Nexus, not Diva, not Hive, not MiniSynx, not Oxium, not SEM V, not Matrix 12, not Spire.Kullervo wrote:Syn’X 2 *** 64

And finally : It's not a *born in 2015* synthesizer.
One vote per day to win this gorgeous synthesizer. Good luck to all
