Hi KVR.
I own an M-Audio ProjectMix I/O, abandoned by M-Audio & Avid. Once I get upgraded to a Mac Pro, I'll need a new interface because the drivers/software aren't compatible beyond OSX 10.7. The ProjectMix I/O has been a great control surface, mic preamp, and audio interface for years and I've not seen anything comparable.
i once considered Euphonix but they're super expensive, problematic, and Avid bought them out.
I considered a 2-channel preamp with digital output (ART Digital MPA II), which I'd run to my TC Electronic konnekt x32 (which IS still getting driver updates). I never found a replacement for the shuttle controls and jog wheel, my attempt to sell the ProjectMix on eBay was a disaster, and I gave up. Still doing everything on a 2009 13" MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard and the PM.
I'm hoping Apple announce a new Mac Pro and retina display by end of year (I'm expecting to be greatly disappointed), so I'm looking, again, at what's out there to replace the ProjectMix when the time comes.
I need to replace:
• multiple microphone inputs (I could live with 2)
• ADAT I/O
• MIDI I/O
• electrical & optical digital I/O
• nice shuttle controls with jog wheel
• word clock I/O (nice, but not necessary; I might sell my clock anyway).
This can be one device or two. I don't need all the faders since I don't use them much anyway.
I don't want to give money to any of the inMusic brands or Avid (bastards).
Any advise?
(Do NOT tell me to buy a PC!!!)
Any Alternatives to ProjectMix I/O?

I guess no one has any ideas. Or my first post was too damned long.

Mackie control universal and an RME interface, which one depends on budget/connectivity requirements.
You don't mention budget.

Thanks for the suggestion. It seems not to be an audio interface. :-/ If I'm going to be forced to spend that much money, it should be one integrated device like what I already have.
The ProjectMix I/O was indeed an excellent product at an excellent price. An effing shame that the developers of it screwed the product and its customers.
Any other suggestions?
