Back in the office...
Many thanks to all for comments-

EJo - their is a certain amount of intention in the 'mono'-ness of the sounds and the lo-fi; I think any more effects would probably clutter the stage and things would start to get lost. This is also why the vocal is kept quite dry and minimal (+ Sandy's voice sounds much better 'natural'). Flatness however could be the result of over-compression in places. Will check.

toine6 - Cripes, you'll make me blush   but many thanks for the kinds words - I'll pass them onto Sandy too (make her blush a bit).

bucodi - yeh, I'm not that big a fan of extreme panning either, it was used to put a bit of movement into the sound-stage (everything was sounding a bit static) but I may try and limit it a bit. Many thanks for the kind words.

t-willy - sorry about the cats, I'll swap them out for puppies next time   (just kiddin', and I would never dream of hurting poor defenseless kittens.... unless they were zombie-kittens!)
:-o :D

Sh@ne - big thanks for the suggestions, I may well be taking you up on some of your ideas (ir's been a while since I've attempted any 'decent' vocal manipulation).
But you have a taker here if you'd like 'Atlantean Trident' remixed! :) Would be a please mate.

Again, many thanx to all - I've gotta dissappear now to an all-day meeting (oh the joy) but I'll be back tomorrow with more.
Cheers fellas.

I really like this....very nice indeed. Excellent production, instrumentation and structure and the vocals are gorgeous.

My only minor criticism would be that it sounds a little bit "triphop by numbers" / straight outa Bristol, and it doesn't have anything that makes it stand out as truly individual & unique. It is however a totally beautiful track and you can certainly put me down for a copy of the album when its ready. Looking forward to hearing more :D

btw - I think Shanes idea about the chant behind the male vox could be very effective.

Just noticed you have other trax on your website, so off for a listen.

Cheers

Very nice, but that IDM/computer type sound ruins it a bit for me, going on all the way through. Hows about fading it in from halfway in each section so it builds up etc rahter than being a constant noise. Also I would have liked the drums a bit rougher and bigger in parts as it seems to drag on at one level after a while.

Very slick d2k... Reminds me a bit of Youssou n'Dour/Neneh Cherry - Seven Seconds, or Heat Miser by Craig Armstrong/Massive Attack... That insistent lo-fi sound in the background is reminiscent of the antacid line running through the latter. It's a clever trick and I actually love the sound, but it's best if you take it away at points so that you can bring it back at the end, generating a sense of circularity and completeness... Would suggest removing it during some of the sung parts, to allow the full impact of the spoken word elements.

However, the production is generally very slick, the song is good, the girl's voice is very nice, and I'm envious :D

A great song. Exceptional vocal, and seems well-recorded (I'm listening on me office Mac through shitty headphones now, so may be getting it not right though). I also like the distorted rapping part. Nice trippy piece this one. Lost in Siberia, y'know

Cool piece of trippish melodic hop music. Great singing voice. More please...

In future, ease back off the shock factor a tad. Maybe 'Wrestling Hedgehogs' would have a similar curiousity level?

I really like this... :) ..sure there are some minor critcisms but I would be careful not to change too much...This definately a case of "the whole being greater than the sum of it's parts." you could lose some of the magic while you created it by going back and tweaking too much.....It's a good song.....

I'd like to hear more............
