@EvilDragon
Thank you :-)

@ere2learn
Thanks a lot :-)
With your clip I could finally understand very well what the mod env does and how to use it!
I think I was misleading the term "Modulation Envelope" and I thought it was exclusively used for LFO Modulation.
But I now understand that it is an envelope for all kind of parameters.
Now back to TAL-Sampler tweaking :)

It seems the TAL Sampler is a bit of a hit and miss for me. I like the simple, clear interface. Not keen on Resampler myself, I have kept all the "character" controls at their minimum effect or used just the linear mode.

Playing fast glissandos up or down for over one octave seems to make the sounds get stuck on repeat till Panic button or host stop is hit.
SFZ mappings may load but getting the related samples recognized seems not to work, browse screen allows one sample load at time and then it's always back to the same browse screen again and again. SFZ export exports only the mappings so not much use from it either. If something is SFZ already, may as well be played with anything which will play them, but exporting something which cannot be played by anything else? And a new proprietary sample format? I still have hardware samplers and have learned to live with conversions where needed and possible. But I don't think I need much more of that with software.

Nice effort, I can see why this has been received pretty well. The provided libraries, factory and Hollowsun (thanks fmr), are also good if not even necessary base for a sampler.

At first I thought to myself, whatever, another sampler to throw into my already crowded VST folder, who cares, but I just tried this and I'm blown away. The sound and sample library quality is extremely high, and I literally felt like "back in the day" while playing these simple but yet powerful presets. Togu Audio Line is really keeping the 80's alive with their software. Mind you, I've completely let go of the past (particularly the 80's) when it comes to creating music, but right now I'm speechless, and I am really inspired to challenge myself to write some music right now with these VSTi exactly the way it would have been done 35 years ago. Pound for pound, your instruments and effects rival those costing 3 times as much. It's obvious that you guys pour your heart into this. Thank you for yet another time capsule VST that actually matters in the scheme of things.

In the audio demo on the site there is a nice 80's synth bass I know from many songs, is that included in the presets?

In that case, be sure also to try Dexed, the DX7 emulation that loads all the original DX7 preset libraries (sysex) perfectly. It's spot on 80's (including the digital "grit") and accompanies this very well :D

Dexed and TAL-Sampler are my most used plugins lately :love:
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

I just want to say that this is cool:
"Loop start now moves loop end too with constant loop length (v1.4.0)"

BUT....

the other way can be cool too! I think ideal would be if you can chose. My choice would probably be the way it was changed to and is currently, but the old way seemed like it could be interesting for automation and stuff.

Thanks Nelzie! I really dig these real world 80's emulations.

TAL Sampler looks much better now. Thse apparently simple improvements do a lot in terms if usability and patch management.

I have to check, but my library has tons of basses, from several sources. Did you check that?

I don't know of this Audio DEMO but I would guess that he's thinking about the Yamaha 'DX7 Classic' and/or 'DX7II' Folders of sounds.
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Yes, indeed, I am pretty sure it is a DX bass, I have a similar one in Sylenth, believe it or not. I don't know how to program FM synths, so I keep away from them...

The wonderful thing with samplers is that you don't have to program FM synths - you just have to record them :wink:
