Cubase or reason or fruity loops

I would say Fruity because its very fun and easy to use. The possiblities within it are almost unlimited. Orion is good also if you just really want to bang out tracks plus it loop records midi which Fruity doesn't do. Sonar is excellent for recording and editing audio. When you do finally pick a host sequencer, I suggest just working fully in that one learning it to its max. I have Sonar3PE, FruityPE and Orion Plat, and between bouncing back and forth between the 3 of them and trying to keep my girlfriend happy, I never get anything really accomplished.

Another vote for Fruity here. Get the full package, it's worth it for all the synths, fx and samples you get. It looks good and is relatively easy to get into and get good results from.
You should also check out energyXT. You can use it as a standalone app, or as a VST within Fruity, or vice-versa!. This give you amazing flexibilty, allowing you to create fast setups that can be dropped into your projects. See how fast it's developing: http://www.kvr-vst.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=36
Then maybe aquire a workhorse synth - I have Z3ta+ and Rhino (2=
), and they're both brilliant in their own right. You won't tire of these beasts.
Finally, gorge yourself on the freebie VSTs posted at KVR and you've got yourself a killer studio/live setup for under $500.
Be prepared for the steep learning curve, but it's worth it once you get the hang...

Also rfuity loops is alot of fun and so simple to use good luck try them all see how you feel.

I'd say pick one and learn it. I use acid and reason. They are not for everybody, but they work for me... and more importantly, I know them.

If you dive deep deep deep into REASON you can do perfect dance tracks only with this.
If you have Cubase you´ll need some additional Synths.
Fruity I don´t know too much only the demo, seems to be also very versatile.
But I´d suggest another combo:
REASON + Tracktion + energyXT, for me the perfect setup for any kind of music and also for dance music.
You can record audio, you can use eXT for almost every midi-fantasy, and REASON for easy synth sounds and ReDrum/ReCycle beats. And you can use every vst.
Not too expensive and working pretty good, increased my work speed unbeliveable.

Surely the combination of Reason and EnergyXT and Tracktion is a very fine one. I use a similar combination, only taking Orion Platinum instead of Reason, and not too much using Tracktion the last months (but it's wonderful if you want to really fast make a song). Maybe EnergyXT and the VST-instruments you need could be the best choice in some months, who knows...
I don't know Reason TOO well, only the demo, and surely it has wonderful possibilities. Users often say it's THAT stable...
Orion Plat though is, as sometimes stated here from various people
much more than a simple toy for loop-orientated thingies. It's a very fine program with very fine synths and good, sometimes weird sample-sounds.

REASON is stable as a rock, yes,
if no one would talk about this,
I never would spend a thought on this question.
Because it is no question.
And REASON is very light on cpu, compared to many other apps.
eXT + vst only - in a few months - would be a great future.
Lets see, what jorgen comes up with.
