@Daags I don't understand why you get so upset. I don't mind discussing the product features, but not if we are going to be insulted.
As I said, I don't mind adding LFO in Pan and Gain tabs, but still, I'm sorry but I don't like what you have done with all those knobs added everywhere and I don't consider this to be a proper solution.
@TheoM there is a drive in the feedback section , so yes you can have "distorted feedback like the logic tape delay"

Olivier, any thoughts on my suggestion of adding parallel/serial routing options for the FX?

Make sense. Cannot give you any timeframe though.mutantdog wrote:Olivier, any thoughts on my suggestion of adding parallel/serial routing options for the FX?

@otristan: My one feature wish for Relayer would be smooth diffusion fx like in Replika.
Relayer has many ways to crunch, pitch and distort, but so far I haven't found a way to really smooth and soften things the way I can with Replika.
The Color section is nice, but doesn't do it for me.
Did I miss something or is it really not there?
Since it's otherwise a real swiss army knife delay and has that totally lovely and well thought out GUI, I'd love to use it more often, but that would mean some softness being available...
Cheers,
Tom

I guess it was asking too much for you to imagine that those quick-access dials 'added everywhere' simply weren't there. I did after all explicitly state they could be ditched if it was against some precious in-house design philosophy.
Anyway. Consider the suggestion of quick-access mini dials ditched.
Back to the main and obvious and simplest and easiest to digest for even the most precious designer out there: making use of the criminal waste of GUI real estate in the Feedback tab:

sorry but if you think that's a 'design nightmare' or a 'mess' or 'bloat' ... then you really need to put your swisss school of design books away and remind yourself you're supposed to be developing the most precise, radical, musical, rhythmic, super duper, last delay you'll ever need, etc etc etc and give us some frickin LFOs toot suite.

it's not really there... at least not in any immediate way.

Why the Christian Bale rage-parade Daags? The more that devs get involved in forum/community activity the better, but I can't see why anybody would want to stick around after 2 straight pages of somebody belittling their work and perceived intelligence.
I actually support most of your suggestions and think they'd be a good addition if worked in thoughtfully and subtly, but if I was the lead dev on this I don't think I'd be particularly inclined to look into them after being spoken to like that...
Also big + for a diffusion type effect.

I get that people tend to gush and fawn when a dev or rep graces them with their presence... and this is compounded when the interaction is experienced directly and not just indirectly.
And it's because of this that people are coming up with accusations of 'Christian Bale rage-parade' simply because I'm holding the dev (or the rep - or better yet the 'designer') to account for the plugin's blatant shortcomings... I wasn't insulted, per se, when he said it would be a 'mess' or 'bloat' or a 'design nightmare' to supply rudimentary lfos for the few extra params I listed - but you could say my intelligence was. And truth be told it should be our intelligence. Can you seriously tell me that two measly lfos, for two arbitrary fx slots, goes anywhere close to delivering the product they are proposing to deliver in the advertising copy ?
sorry but it falls very short on delivering that without those lfos for actual delay related params. but yay, we can lfo our bitcrusher and waveshaper
and just look at the photoshop solution I mocked up (the last one) .... do you think that's a 'mess' or a 'design nightmare' or 'bloat' ? ... I mean, heaven forfend anything else should occupy all that vacant space they left in the feedback tab
maybe they're just saving this for a v2 upgrade or something. That at least would make sense. Because calling it bloat, a mess, or a (my favourite) 'design nightmare' is just patent BS.
people should focus more on the fact that there's a big shortcoming that can be easily rectified, rather than the fact there's someone not blowing smoke up the dev's ass. +1 the lfo pic and move on, and we'd all benefit.

Dude, I hate people fawning and gushing just because of a developers presence, just as much I hate to see someone act dickish because possibly their pride was hurt. He didn't insult you (or your intelligence)... he just didn't like the idea. Big deal.Daags wrote:Hez wrote:Why the Christian Bale rage-parade Daags? I did like the idea, but I also agree I can do it all currently via my host with automation, so for me this is no end of life scenario for this plugin. I demoed it and bought it for what it could do... Not what I was hoping it could do.
And back to the marketing... man give it up. You must have read that too quick, because they say it can do what it does and nothing more. Its not like they put in a line about it having "more LFOs than you can shake a stick at! OMG, OMG, OMG" Nope... none of that was there so its not like anything was misleading... This is just you nitpicking (and leaving specificity out to make a case) about it not having a feature you think it must have.

Could we have that line again where it says arse-over-tits, we only read it about 5 times - and then please repeat the blowing up smoke up the devs arse, that was only mentioned 3 times or so - and then we should have another niche effect mentioning, that fell short with only 5 or so appearances. Forum parrots...

I'm actually quite fond of "arse-over-tits"Sampleconstruct wrote:Could we have that line again where it says arse-over-tits, we only read it about 5 times - and then please repeat the blowing up smoke up the devs arse, that was only mentioned 3 times or so - and then we should have another niche effect mentioning, that fell short with only 5 or so appearances. I've never heard it or read it conversationally before.
