I don't know wag tunes, been battling insomnia for a month now... beyond caring anymore. I'm pissed at EVERYONE right now. Maybe I went off on the wrong guy. still, get a mac.
On that note, The only wave phase still functional on OS X is the pulse width, I don't know if that's by design or it's just a "me" problem. Just a heads up.

Ditto for me in the quote above. Please excuse the usual crowd of rude little boys here -- frustrated wannabees and musicians going nowhere who need to take their frustrations out on anyone who is successful.
Have a great time and experience in Boston! I lived there for a year, just down the street from Berklee (although I wasn't there to attend the school but to perform and enjoy the culture [and great food and restaurants!]). I trust you will like it there. This reminds me that I should visit the ol' 'Beantown' myself again soon.
Thanks for the update as well. Will check into this tonight. I have no real issues to report for using your synth. It's always been in my Top 3. Simply love it!
Best Wishes and Enjoyment in your new home,
Marla

I like it better every time I open it up. It still crashes Cubase, but it's much rarer now.Aloysius wrote:^ +1 You are a gift to mankind (and chicks). We can not thank you enough for this wonderful creation.![]()

Ironically, Synthmaster has never crashed my DAW. The only problems I have with it (one that was finally solved today) were the license issue which was solved and the inability to load waveforms other than the factory ones. I'd load one and it would make no sound. I'd have to delete the Synthmaster and SynthmasterTemp directories in my documents folder in order to get them working again.Apostate wrote:I like it better every time I open it up. But other than that, this thing has been rock solid.
So please don't lump me in with all the "complainers". I just want to not have to keep deleting directories and recreating them every 2 weeks. It's starting to get a little annoying.

My issues with it haven't had anything to do with its sound.
The major issue I have with it has to do with site connections.
All work flawless when buying but not when connecting for download.
Once it does connect, the downloads work good or adequate enough for the most part.
In all past updates, I've had to uninstall the previous version, install the new version, edit files and paths, search and destroy duplicate files written in more than one place by the installation.
I don't even waste time trying to download update executable's any more. I get the full version.
This time though, I did run the new version without uninstalling 2.6 and I have to say it worked better than ANY of the previous versions and all seems to be running as it should.
So it just comes back to that last issue now.
Which has never had anything to do with the synth itself.

Ok then let's discuss how we can improve it betterBBFG# wrote: So it just comes back to that last issue now.

The main reason why we have this "particular" download mechanism is that I don't want users deal with placing license key files, going through activations/authorizations etc. They should just download the setup, run it and voila. (the license key file comes inside the zip file you download so there's some sort of "server processing" going on when you download) It should start running. That was my vision when I built this.
Of course, the "downside" is, when I release updates everyone rushes to the website, and that's where folks start to wait for minutes for their downloads to start. however, last year I added a couple more things to prevent the web site from freezing: If server is already "busy" preparing a download, the rest of the folks wait in the "queue", and they receive a "direct" download link in their inboxes, valid for 5 days.
If you guys are still having download issues, please try to add &queued=true to the download link. for instance, if you are downloading the full macosx setup, the link is: http://www.synthmaster.com/downloadfile.aspx?fileId=43 now add &queued=true to this link and try again: http://www.synthmaster.com/downloadfile ... ueued=true
This way, you'll receive the direct download link in your inbox in a couple of minutes and then you can download from that link which should be valid for up to 5 days.

In theory perhaps, but it doesn't go like that.kv331 wrote:Ok then let's discuss how we can improve it betterBBFG# wrote: So it just comes back to that last issue now.

First of all, because these updates tend to make me cringe, I wait for days after the announcement to download. Rarely in the group of folks rushing to get it first and/or at the beginning of any queue. It takes me days to finally muster through the PITA aspect of getting around to it.
Second of all, clicking the download repeatedly brings up a blank page which gets lost indefinitely.
Perhaps it is resetting this that creates a false queue?
Third of all, receiving a direct link via inbox takes much longer (often hours later, sometimes the next day), but usually downloads immediately from there.
Perhaps just sending the link by request immediately could be the solution?

Tbf it sounds like you're more broken than Kv's website.
Like others have mentioned up thread, I have no problems with downloading or installing updates.

You know, I wonder if this could be a browser related issue?BBFG# wrote:In theory perhaps, but it doesn't go like that.kv331 wrote:Ok then let's discuss how we can improve it betterBBFG# wrote: So it just comes back to that last issue now.

For example, Chrome simply won't allow me to download U-he's demos. It tells me that it's a dangerous file and they block it. There isn't even anything I can do to override it. I have to go to a different browser, which I really don't like doing because I hate IE and FireFox has other issues. Plus, I just don't like installing a lot of extra things I don't need.
Point is, with whatever problems I have, downloading the updates isn't one of them. That part is fine. I go to the link provided, enter my email and license, and the file immediately starts to download.
So have you maybe tried in another browser? I finally had to bite the bullet and use IE to get U-he's stuff.
It's just something to consider if you haven't already.

It was the first thing I considered.wagtunes wrote: You know, I wonder if this could be a browser related issue?

I've tried three browsers on multiple occasions (IE;FFox;Chrome) and three different connections (Wireless;Satellite;FIOS) all with the same problems. And KV331 is the only company that gives me those specific problems. BTW, clicking the link they eventually send automatically opens Chrome by default and works from there. So the browser is not the issue.
By what KV331 describes, it appears there is a glitch/bug in their queue system.
(They had a problem in their emails too that took months to get them to look at and finally admit there was a problem before they fixed it also.) Kind of a pattern here.

Just so everybody knows, it was a "me" problem. It used to visually off set the start of the sampled wave, now you choose between a variety of algorithms get the desired affect.

Thanks, emef! That did the trick! Time to see what the geniuses of sound can do!emef wrote:click on the browser sectionSaukar30 wrote: How are we able to tell where the new presets are? I have the everything bundle and I haven't used Synthmaster much enough to know where everything is off hand.
go to the bottom of the 'attributes' section
you should see 'version 2.7' there
click on that and you'll see the new presets
I read more than post = I listen more than I talk
