Besides rearranging modules/knobs again also almost all labels/text have been replaced even if this is not so obvious at the first look. They have been either included directly in Knobman (with the corresponding knobs) or replaced with a picture editor.
The upper part of the modules/sections now represents the audio path (Oscs -> Filters -> Amps -> Output) an the lower one the modulation (ENVs, LFOs, Mod mixers) and global options. Some of the controls in the Osc sections have been rearranged and the PW knob replaced with a big knob.

In the future the focus will be maybe more on adding more effects to the picture, sharpen it even more (was already done in GIMP) or again replacing some of the fonts (maybe wit hbigger ones).
Great work, Ingo! You're progressing fast, as expected! :tu: Most of all I like the rearranging you've made - really smart separation into audio/modulation/control levels. A round of

Here are some recommendations from me:
- why don't you make it a little less wide, say 1200 pixels, so it can fit better on smaller screens.
- the thick font is difficult to read, why not replace with the font used on Vel A. Level, Vel. Time, etc.
- the switches could be improved for easier recognition of setting
- the separation borders could be less sharp - more integrated with the background but still easy to make out

Thus far, this is my preferred skin, if it had Teksonik's backround that would be killer!!!

Make sure you don't go overboard with the fx!

to each his own i guess. my eyes hurt from Ingo's skin - it's waaaay too sharp for my taste. i like Norbz' one better, but i still prefer the original by far. that said, keep up the good work!
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Hi,

many thanks for your nice comments.

Concerning adding FXs i just added the "raw" background image to the end of my post (and also included in the ZIP file now). This was before adding certain effects in GIMP. This is a starting point for possible improvements. I already found a way to sharpen the picture in GIMP without f**king up the colors. I had used this for the currekt version.

Actually instead of getting a smaller one in the future i plan to do a bigger one with bigger fonts (for use on Full HD dispaly or bigger). Got a Full HD display (1920 x 108) here at the moment and my current skin works nicely there.

I really have my own approach and do not want to have my skin look the same as others here...
Besides that in my skin the sections/knob/switch positions are heavily edited so it does not look similar to the default skin or others taht were posted here.

As already said i included the "orignal" version without further sharpening in GIMP. Will try to experiment with taht further.
A transparent GIMP file is included in the ZIP too to add your own background (e.g. different colors).

Last but not least the Knobman files are included too which mostly also include the rings/values at the knobs and could be easily edited.

Everyone here is free to edit my skin to his liking. That's why i included all those files in the ZIP file...

As alraedy mentioned i am doing this for my own fun (while i want to share it here) and not to get a Poly-Ana license as i already have one since more than 7 years.

@Ingo

I meant this one:

Yes, the bottom of the three is much too sharp. The upper one is good.

A little less wide would be great, it takes almost all the width of a 15'' screen here. There are scrollbars in the host etc. that have to be accessible, that's why I said it would fit better if it's just a little less wide.

As mentioned above the 3rd screenshot is an experiment with a "Bump Map" effect. This one is not included with the skin folder but as a picture in another foder in the ZIP file.

UPDATE:
The "Bump Map" effect screenshot is removed.

To show which labels have been replaced with Knobman files (the *.knob files are included in teh ZIP file) here is the background of the first screenshot (see above at this page) without the knobs/switches/buttons/LEDs:

As a general observation, there's too much text on this panel.

Source - Amount - Source - Amount - Source - Amount
Dest Dest Dest Dest
Vel A this, Vel A that

Maybe it could be reduced a little - some words replaced with signs, some text hidden... Hmmmm......

Seriously i do not see your point. Using different labels for similar controls is not a good idea IMO. Of course many of the labels are similar as they serve a similar purpose. Using shorter ones would just add confusion IMO.

I SERIOUSLY recommend using the actual skin in the actual plugin before giving tons of comments about the screnshots. Actually too few people posting seem to actually own a full kicense of Poly-Ana and have used the synth for a while (like e.g. me and Teksonik).

No, I don't mean "using different labels for similar controls". Just think about what I said: too much text on the panel. Give it time to sink in. Then look at it again - am I reading a novel?

This comment is not directed specifically at you, Ingo. It's a general observation, maybe Mike could also think about it, esp. some controls are too wordy.

WHAT? :o I thought the point of doing a new skin was exactly to NOT have to use THAT :hihi:

I wonder why  Maybe because we didn't like it the way it is...

ANOTHER NOTE:

Compared to teh amount of time and work needed to edit and fine tune the positions of al controls (none in my skin is like in the default or my previous skin...) the actual time needed to change the design (e.g. colors or even fonts) is close to nothing...

Due to tha tshifting the controls again soon is not really what i intended to do. Maybe shifting and/or editing some of the texts/fonts in the background or the Knobman files but that's another story and not as frustrating as adjusting the knob positions (BTW at the moment a few are maybe still off a bit...).

I SERIOUSLY recommend to Admiral Quality to finally make a usable skin that ACTUALLY can be used if he expects people with eyes to buy and use his plugin as a part of their artistic work. No, I don't own it, no, I don't use a cracked version, no, I'm not going to buy it if it stays on the same path of half-usability, backwardness and aggression towards anyone who disagrees with AQ dogmas or suggests an actual improvement.

@ Ingo: I don't have any kind of Poly-Ana here, so I cannot try your skin, the recommendations I'm making are simply by looking at the pictures you posted, which is more than enough, to make things obvious as to what's still wrong and should be improved.

Hi Fernando,

please do not treat me like an idiot (same to others here).

I do not get your point. I meant it is better to use the skin i provieded in the plugin (in "real life") instead of just discussing screenshots. IMO having an experienece with the real skin loaded in the plugin is different.

Another point is that IMO too many people are involved in this discussion that never actually owned the plugin or did not even try the demo version and do not know how certain things work in the synth (e.g. that the OSC waveforms selection is continuous and not simple steps).

I am quite sure that in the future i will see necessary improvements myself after having used the skin in "real life" for a while.
