I'm trying to use sounddiver to edit some hardware synths, also while auditioning the patches with my usb midi keyboard. For the life of me I can't figure this out!
I set up sounddiver to use midi in and midi out from my audiophile 2496, and it works fine for transmitting sysex, editing etc. But I can't play the synth while sounddiver is loaded to hear my changes. Loading tracktion or chainer at the same time doesn't work, because they both can't access the midi out port at the same time.
I tried midi yoke and midi ox (though I barely understand them), but each time it transmitted sysex routed from sounddiver I got a sysex checksum error.
Ideas?
How to use sounddiver and midi keyboard at once?

Your USB keyboard should be recognized as a MIDI input in SoundDiver.
Turn on MIDI thru in the options menu in SoundDiver.
Make sure your thru channels match.

i figured it out, apparently. You need midi thru checked in the options menu. The other options "preserve midi thru" and 'thru ch." were confusing me, as they do nothing with my setup. Thanks ew
