Maybe? I've been reading this thread, and what I see is people trying to explain to you that your skins look amatuerish. It's clear you are not a talented skin designer ... what did you expect?
Instead of having some humility and recognizing that your skins are not that good, you insist on publishing them one after the other, on an almost hourly basis, and complaining when nobody likes them. The idea of this thread was to get some talented designers to make a usable and good looking GUI for Poly-Ana ... not for you to bombard it with your first attempts at skinning anything ever.

You get 5 stars for effort, but really, if you are going to publish your work on the internet you should learn to take critisism a little better.
i NEVER actually menioned that i am a good skin designer. Actually i started with this 2 weeks ago (and never said anything different) but have learned some things quite fast. With my first skin i posted (after around 1 or 2 days) some people already said i should stop doing skins. That is really unfair for someone who had just started with all this.

Besides some good ones (e.g. from fmr) several of the "tips" i got like "better stop doing skins" or "better start from scratch" or "put everything into as small space as possible" were not really helpful for what i wnted to do. comments lie "Your skins look horrible" were not helpful too.
Most tings i learned during the last 2 weeks i learned myself or from tutorials i found in the internet. (for knobman and GIMP).

actually i even "teached" a few things i had found to others as they did not know about it, for example wit hediting the XML file.

Anyway i am doing my best to improve and like others mentioned i actually DID improve during the last 2 weeks.

Anyway the fact that i am new does not mean that i do not have my own ideas/concept which i want to keep.

If this thread is only allowed for professional designers then i am indeed out of this.

Call me paranoid but like with many other thredas it's again Teksonik and Kriminal that make me leaving a thread that i had some fun with.

Teksonik said it's nothing personal but here is a short story:

A few years ago Teksonik, Kriminal and me were Beta testers at Synapse Audio (for Dune v1). During that time in a off-topic sub-forum of the Beta forum i had posted about a group buy for Xils Lab Syntix taht was released at that time.
After posting that i was attacked in a way (especially by Teksonoik) that made me so angry and scared that so time after the betatest i more or less stopped working as a beta tseter for Synapse.

Since that in many threads i posted (especially those related to e.g. Waldorf or Tone2 for which i am/was a tester too) one or both of them are attacking me. Again, just call me paranoid but now it happened again...

I think I speak for everyone else in this thread when I say: We don't care about your history, so can the three of you just get a room or just stop posting to and/or about each other?

Anyway back on track.......Here's the first winner of the skin contest again so it doesn't get buried. This skin was done by Hoverland. Hopefully there will be other winners as well.

Patience my friend patience...... It will take time. :hihi:

I just sent a PM to LFO8 who released a very nice skin for another synth telling him about the Poly-Ana contest. Hopefully he will be interested and take the challenge............. :tu:

A "bump" for the skin of Hoverland, with the link (this was "buried" almost ten pages behind  )

AND a "bump" for the last one from Norbz. Hope he and H-Man keep working on this and that great idea of creating a "routine" to allow an easy way to create variations by the user
Norbz wrote: So based on Mike's feedback and with H-man's help, we're going to pull back a bit and just get a skin ready that Mike see's as acceptable before doing anything fancy with the knobs highlights (we need MANY different types of highlight knob types with different treatments re directions/degrees.., then new knobs in the xml, then trial/error), or any other extra custom knobs/adsr/etc.

Come on guys let's try to act our age not our shoe size....I'm trying. I've been using the Mute function. Works wonders at filtering out the drama.

Anyway AQ has been "advising others and is expecting more skins in the coming days and/or weeks". :tu:

That is a good thing as well. Wish I knew GUI myself... :help:

Wow at this thread. :) I haven't been here long but certain ppl really know how to push buttons, pun intended, while others just can't take any type of criticism.

I need to get back to my slate of stuff but when I have a creative release moment and nowhere to release it next I'll try to do a few more. I personally don't like my last template now that some time has passed and I revisit it, and now that I see how fickle Mike can be with his approach to what he wants. If/when I do a few more I'll probably just skin the existing wide layout.

It's been interesting reading the backstory of this dude/synth. One thing I learned in biz early = give them what they want even if it doesn't jive with what you want, and no matter what don't be emotional with your biz.
