Ok,
so the last e-mail from Mike finally was enough and i indeed will quit all this now.
Not sure what will happen to my skins and also Poly-Ana but possible that i will loose interest in both the skins and the plugin now. I really wanted to have fun with this but the current situation makes this close to impossible for me.

I'm one of the few (?) who never had problems with the original gui. I liked it! But still really interesting to see what skins you guys can come up with
kinda offtopic, but still about poly-ana. I'm experiencing kinda high cpu ( 30-40 %) eventhough i'm just using a simple major chord. I'm on a i5 processor and can handle a couple of diva/u-he instances. Since poly-ana has a couple of years behind it (but still sounds great) i thought that it would be more forgiving to the cpu? Maybe its just my system. How are poly ana cpu wise for you guys?

CPU can still be a bit demanding even here on an i7. Quality does have it's price. Years ago Poly-Ana was a CPU killer but now chips have caught up. It's one synth that would benefit from Multi Threading same as Dune 2, Diva, luSH101 etc.....Charlie Firpo wrote:I'm one of the few (?) who never had problems with the original gui. I liked it! Where else can I talk to people (I assume there are few robots here) from all over the world? So, you are pairing Mike with Gol?Teksonik wrote:Anyway I don't understand why AQ should not be allowed to have some control over how his synth looks and functions. Ask Fruity Loop owners why pre version 12 skins were only partially skinable. Because people were creating eye searing ugly skins and GOL was insulted by them. He didn't want his software to look like that because those skins were embarrassing.........(sound familiar ?).
I think it's fair, and it explains a lot, too
Reminds me of a great synth plug-in users are complaining about its GUI for years, yet he did nothing about: Sytrus!

@TheoM:
Concerning my sound design skills many peoe including customers that paid for my soundsets and companies i made factory presets for had a different opinion. Of course this is kind of subjective.
Concerning my own thread for the skin it made no sense as no matter if it was my own thread Mike was sending e-mails to me (including that last one which made me stop again and i will not tell any content of that one). I did not ask him to send those e-mails yesterday, today and also some times earlier, i just wanted to do/post my own stuff.
. i do not want to say that everything that Mike wrote was wrong (actually there was some useful and helpful stuff) but HOW he wrote it, especially the last ones, is much over the top IMO, no matter if some things were my own faults or not.
No matter what i did concerning the skins and how much i tried to increase my skills i had received mostly hate and bashing all the time, by both KVR members and also Mike so what do you think i do think and feel now? I guess you have no clue. I never experienced such a situation since i am at KVR and there was a lot of trouble and/or BS during the time i am a member here...
Actually this sitiuation will make me re-think if i really want to continue posting at KVR or try to give support for e.g. Waldorf stuff here. Same about posting free patches here where i usually only get few feedback anyway and sometimes in the past i even got attacks where someone called me "spoiling" KVR with my free (!!) patches.
Do i have to give apologies to someone? This is indeed possible, but somel people here would have to do the same for me too...

You added that part after I posted. Yes Sytrus is a perfect example. People have been asking for years for a gui that's not the size of a postage stamp but he's done nothing about it as usual. Shame as feature wise Sytrus is a very powerful synth. It's just a pain to work with and I think that's why you don't see many (any ?) commercial sound banks for it.........fmr wrote: Reminds me of a great synth plug-in users are complaining about its GUI for years, yet he did nothing about: Sytrus!

It's really quite simple. Mike gives great support and passionately cares about his product, including the looks (even though many people didn't like the design). Ingo, you bombarded this thread with the most hideous skins, that were somehow both larger than the original and yet harder to read, and also looked busier. Mike did not like it and was brutally honest. I would probably also be frustrated by a thread full of images that made my product look bad. I'd probably try to politely ask you to stop but Mike is a huge asshole when he is bothered by something (hence the ban) and you were on the receiving end of his trademark rudeness. There is no way this situation could have gone a different way. We can all see that you had good intentions, but it seems you want a lot of attention and that often rubs people the wrong way. This is likely the major reason for the "hate" towards you. Best thing to do is just stop. No more skin posting, just let it go.

Admiral Quality webpage looks to be coded using notepad. So maybe he should think about bringing that into the 21st century instead of spending time disheartening users having fun making skins.
Dunno why the dev would open for skinning, and then objecting to users modding skins?

The Internet is a difficult place. I bet in real life Theo, Ingo etc. would get along fine if they sat around a table with a synth on it
But the subtle feedback and control that is there in real life and keeps people's egos from getting too big, is missing on message boards. So people either don't get the message or words get so clear that they hurt and embarrass others in front of everyone.

I wouldn't call skinning superficial.fluffy_little_something wrote:What happens is that many people seem to prefer messing around with superficial things like skins to actually making music, or at least trying to (like in my case), which is the whole point of music plugins.
When skinning a user will really learn the interface, all the nuts and bolts, and it can as such lead to better understanding of how the functions in a plugin interacts.
