Sylenth1 v3

From what I've read the next version of Sylenth whatever it's called won't sound any different. This version seems to be more to shut up those who are clamoring for a 64 bit Mac version or whatever and those who have been asking for user skinning without having to use a hacked .dll (which Lennard is apparently OK with).
To me it's not a version upgrade but a point upgrade. So Sylenth 1 version 3 works for me. Sylenth 2 would have to bring new sound design abilities such as Waveform Import, Osc Hard Sync, Per Layer Arps etc etc....
Unless I missed something in the change log and there are indeed additional sound design features being added....

Yeah, I don't care enough about that ugly name to change anything about it myself (I doubt renaming the dll would change anythingTeksonik wrote:fluffy_little_something wrote:Nah, I don't really care about its name,

Hehe, no idea who made it, stumbled upon it on Google.
Would be cool if PA looked like that, though
Except the small mod matrix knobs, they are not so good...

I suspect it was more just Synth, plus LE, as well as a nice play on words (the sound of silence, spoken with a lisp)wagtunes wrote:This is only speculation but I'm guessing that Len got the name from combining the original Synth1 (pretty sure it came out first) with the first 2 letters of his first name (len) so you get Sy -le-nth1.fluffy_little_something wrote:Its name is probably the only stupid thing about that plugin
Naturally, I could be wrong, but if you take it apart, it fits.
Not that the two synths have much in common at all, if anything.
So I would still have thought the 1 was just a version number till he brought out "2". However Tek is right that none of these have been major updates so maybe we can think of them more as 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3?

"Sylenth comes from silence"?! As in "the sound of silence"?
I have the impression only american guys call Sylenth1 "Sylenth", because it reminds them the word "silence". For the rest of the world it is Sylenth1", not "Sylenth", and it is quite clear it means "Lennard Synth".

I'll buy any synth named after a Nigerian general.fluffy_little_something wrote:Nah, I don't really care about its name, just like I don't care about skinning plugins![]()
But I don't like the word Sylenth, it sounds weak and fragile, and dirty because of the th. Exactly the opposite of typical Bantu languages with all their m's, k's and b's, and their full vowels (a's, o's and u's)Makumba sounds much more powerful

I use one of the Lance Thackery skins which requires a hacked .dll but Lennard or Ruben to be more precise said that is allowed. That's why I welcome official user skinning. I'd prefer not to use a hacked .dll

Yeah I've never seen one that is better than the default skin yet. But I've seen many that are much worse! The new one they've been teasing ain't bad either though.Regnas wrote:I like the default skin.....

I use this one. Much easier on my eyes. The default isn't bad but after so many years it's nice to have a change.......Echoes in the Attic wrote:Yeah I've never seen one that is better than the default skin yet.
