i actually thought i'd finished this till i listened to it on another stereo and i realised that some of my drums are a bit loose. i might go back and fix em or i might just leave em in :?

anyways, see what you think, it a kind of funky hip hop thing with strings and a xylophone and stuff....

bonzai

as always, feeback much appreciated.

steve.

I second that 8)

Gots me swingin' here

Although sometimes the drums feel as if they are slightly out of sync, but that could be purposed.

PS: I know I downloaded Bonzai, but the tag says: Southport kvr :?

i agree mark, i played in a lot of the drums "as live" and my keyboard skills are not quite up to it  i should go back and edit a few bits and pieces but i didn't want to loose the feel.

i am a lazy bastard at times  that should now be sorted.

Hmm nice one here :)

My advice on the drums, leave them as they are. It's true they are a bit of at some spots but it gives a human feeling to the song.

thanks rony, i'm still in two minds as i can hear a couple of bars where my playing is awful :( but if i do start editing, i'll edit all the feel out of it

it's a no win situation

thanks for listening,

steve.

I like the feel and sound of this one.
Interesting variation in sounds, and nice
melody.

I like this a lot. Very funky, very retro and very cool 8).

What are you using for the drum samples? I think I'm hearing three different snares!!? 22s 44s and 104s...

ben,

using loads for the drums. there are 3 loops, the reverse reverby one, the cypress hill one  and the big crashy one. a soundfont, i made from a couple of classic breaks provides some extra percussion over that and the nskit7 provides drums that are played "live" over the top (hats, cymbals and 3 different snares - correct guess)

in total that makes, 3 bassdrums (i eq some out), 7 snares and a couple of other bits and bobs.

i think sometimes i might go a little ott with my drums

glad you liked it,

cheers,

steve.

:o :-o ... I think I'm being "clever" when I use two snares in a song... but 7!!! :hail:

I really do have to work harder on my drum programming... I think it's my weakest point...

unfortunately, using a lot of snares doesn't make your timing any better, and i'm pretty sure you'd struggle to recreate it im the real world

perhaps i should just use 2 and keep em in time

cheers,

steve.
