Are these soundcards good ??? as compared to the M-audio delta series ??? i was looking at this :

I have an STAudio DSP Media 7.1 and I like it.
Can't tell you how it compares with oters since I haven't tried those.

I have an ST AUDIO too, and even though it sounds nice enough (same converters as the Delta Series), drivers and support really leave to desire, so I personally can´t recommend them anymore. Beside this it can be a real pain in the rear to get you up 'n running with it.
Add a 100 bucks and get yourself an EMU 1820m i.e. or anything else respected in that price range.

Just my humble opinion

or even get an old dsp-factory if you have not problem with approx. 22ms latency. i still have two of them - it ROCKS!

the deal is that im getting the STA much cheaper than the Delta1010 (thoughy more than the LT), and the EMUI 1820m.

The company has now been taken over by Ego systems.

think it's worth the investment or should i stik to the Delta1010 LT... now that i know they have the same converters...

I have a DSP2000 and it has served me well.
Do experience problems since I have a Wireless networking card installed (buffer hangs for a part of a second every now and then).

I'm switching to a 100% creamware setup now, though, after a few months of transition.

hey jo! are your problems exclusivel because of ure wireless network??? otherwise it works fine ??? CAn this not be solved.. if so then why are you going creamware (sampler?)

what kind of latencies are you dealing with..? are the drivers up to the mark ?? company responcse? i can go in for the 1010LT also... just that ill get the STA locally and it has a breakout box...
too many questions.. but i want to be sure...

had the sta as well... worked pretty nicely , apart from their driver support which is kinda .. lets put it this way: SLOW!!

I have a DSP2000, too. It has the same chip as used in the M-Audio cards (and others) at the time, IIRC. But the DSP-2000 was a lot cheaper. Meanwhile, Ego Sys bought ST Audio. They promised new and improved drivers, even for the relatively old DSP-2000. And they delivered pretty fast. AFAIK, the new drivers are now in the 5th beta, and I haven't had a problem with them yet. Support is OK, too.

OTOH, the DSP-2000 is rather oldish now, so it's not the fastest card around latency-wise. And, some people do experience problems with some of the new beta drivers.

Yup, the problems didn't occur before the Wireless card. The system worked quite well before on it's own.
At some point I decided to add a Pulsar 2 for FX'n'stuff (not realizing you cannot use another soundcard in XTC mode with that. So now I got me a Luna + I/O-Box on Ebay along with a Presonus TubePre and am hoping that it will be an improvement.
Still, I think the DSP2000 is a good buy, especially now that ST Audio has been taken over by ESI.

All those new Firewire interfaces look interesting as well, though...

I also forgot to add the latency I get - 10-20ms is what I can run reasonably on my system.
