Try using a 32-bit host with 32-bit plug-ins. There are some issues to be fixed yet. Beta 2 has a bunch of them solved. I will be grateful if you could say host / os / etc, thanks!fmr wrote:Sampling a VSTi didn't work either. I can load the plug-in, define what I want, but when I hit OK... nothing happens.

That's what i did: VSThost 32-bit and I loaded Arturia Matrix-12 V. I always start testing with 32-bit, and only when I don't find problems do I proceed to 64-bit. Seems like this is in need of some serious testing and debuggingGeorge wrote:Try using a 32-bit host with 32-bit plug-ins. There are some issues to be fixed yet. Beta 2 has a bunch of them solved. BTW: Should the hosted plug-in play? Because the M12 didn't even make any sound whatsoever.
EDIT: Tried another, and now I got sound - but it sounds terrible. Lot's of noise, as if the host cannot process enough (yet, total CPU load was below 50%). The plug-in I tested was the Admiral Quality Poly-Ana. Again, this part seems in need of some work too.

I'll check Renoise, I'm a registered user but have to find my license around here somewhere.George wrote:Renoise will run Bliss perfectly. If possible send over the crash logs located at Documents > discoDSP > Bliss folder so we can figure out what's happening.StudioDave wrote:... Is there a Linux host known to run the demo ?
Have already sent the log.
Btw, system details: Fedora 19, x86_64, with PlanetCCRMA extensions.
Best,

Ok thanks, license.dat can be dragged to plugin GUI by the way.StudioDave wrote: I'll check Renoise, I'm a registered user but have to find my license around here somewhere.![]()

I tested u-he DIVA and Hive within Studio One. Sampling them worked fine.
With that said, I only once was able to successfully open their own interfaces (usually a black screen shows up). Also, it'd be nice to know where the samples are stored. Finally, it's a little confusing that you have to unload the VSTi after sampling it, I would think that Bliss would immediately switch to its own engine once the VSTi has been sampled.

So, I got Poly-Ana to work, but it sounded not OK. So, I loaded DeXed. Again, it didn't sound OK. But I decided to sample it anyway. Sampling WORKED. And it plays good. Seems like, in spite of not being able to use the plug-in, it can sample it OK. "Houston, we have a lift-off!"George wrote:Perfect! Yes, it should play. Not doing it is a indicator of not doing good at all.
EDIT: I reloaded DeXed, and now it plays OK...

Beta 2 has fixed a bunch of plugin hosting so it's very likely to be fixed.Uncle E wrote:With that said, I only once was able to successfully open their own interfaces (usually a black screen shows up).
RAM until they are exported to disk. Also, it'd be nice to know where the samples are stored.
Ok, noted. Thanks! Finally, it's a little confusing that you have to unload the VSTi after sampling it, I would think that Bliss would immediately switch to its own engine once the VSTi has been sampled.

yes, I second this. Although, as a workaround, I opened the editor, and reduced the volume of the plug-in to 0, to be able to just listen to the sampler. It's a workaround, but it works.George wrote:Ok, noted. From what I understand hosting does the sampling just fine but there are issues with real time audio output.fmr wrote:Read what I posted above... Can't explain...

Another thing. I cannot edit the tail duration. I tried to sample a patch that has a long and interesting release part, but it was cut in the sampling process. There is a tail parameter, but it is grey.

There were, but not anymore). It seems Bliss got used to it's host (VSThost) and they decided to coexist peacefully - maybe because I turned off the oversampling, that I was using first - clue?George wrote:From what I understand hosting does the sampling just fine but there are issues with real time audio output.fmr wrote:Read what I posted above...
