Thanks for the feedback! It's strange, lowest interpolation quality shouldn't use that much CPU. Will investigate, but we are working on more flexible interpolation choices right now.

Seeing that only the first SF2 file of that collection was correctly loaded and working, I have thought it could be BECAUSE it was the first. So I have closed my DAW, reopened my DAW, reopened Bliss and retried by beginning with another SF2 file of this collection as first. But no, it was only a coincidence, it is really the only one to load and work in this collection.

So I think that there is a real issue in the management of these files in Bliss.

But there is no reason to panic, it is certain that resolving the issue for one will resolve the issue for the others.

Ah! Here with my Windows 7 64-bit (and Bliss 32-bit loaded in Mulab 6 32-bit) these three zbp files load and work correctly. So for this second point I think that it is rather related to the compilation for Linux.

I'm currently beginning to try with other SF2 files. I'll make here a little list around the end of the afternoon (here it is 1:32 PM in France) with their respective results.

i assume that it has problems with sf2 bank files, i.e. soundfonts that contain more than one instrument (preset)?

Soundfonts I tryied doesn't work. Single patches or banks. Just clipping and horrible noises. Or simple doesn't load. The SF2 support is the only single reason I could buy this one.

And the GUI is ugly as hell, sorry...

A short plugin preview of Bliss Sampler
After using it several hours, I must say:
+ a great new sampler
+ exclusive feature: VST Sampling also for MAC OS X (Direct Wave from IL can do this but only for WIN)
+ Nice Looping features

I hope it will be in near future stable. There are many samplers on the market but this one is special due of the special features of VST Hosting and Sampling.

image line`s directwave also samples vst instruments.

Mostly the plugin crash's at my system during plugin host
Without sampling from VST, less crashes

I tried several multi-wav soundfonts that worked. Some are large ones, around 160 meg.
Only the DSF e-mu ones failed to load. A couple dozen others with single wavs
also worked.

I also tried loading an e-mu sf2 via the (edit) Load samples (end-edit) menu, where it produced
jumbled noise, like trying to play all the sounds at once.
