Hehe, made me think of an old Lionel Richie song, before he turned all mellow

I personally like Analog for Analog, and Software for Software.pixel85 wrote:Actually, it's good that software is not like analog synths. Because analog synths sucks
As much as i love software, i would love to own a wall of modular in the future.

Dasheesh, I always disagree with your ramblings because it always seems as if though you swig a full quart of Jack Daniels before you post on KVR, but this time I think you're a genius! You are right on the money with these words of wisdom. I stopped this crap a long time ago man! Well said.

I'm trying to stoppe searching for stuff about analog hardware while at work. Too many times a college have snuck up on me when I've had multiple tabs up, where one or more have been shortened to... A four letter word.

Exactly! But few of mine have few scratches now. I dropped them few timesdavid.beholder wrote:And software synths have better build quality!pixel85 wrote:Actually, it's good that software is not like analog synths. Because analog synths sucks

Beware, chipping paint and scratches is dramatically decreasing second hand price of softsynths.pixel85 wrote:Exactly! But few of mine have few scratches now. Also drops might affect their sound.

I guess because of the more technical nature of synths, those who use them a lot are maybe more susceptible to becoming obsessed with minutiae than a lot of other musicians. I remember a guy who did a lecture series on the music business twenty years ago recommending that indie bands just go into project studios to record and let others worry about the technical aspects instead of trying to set up their own studio, because "you'll waste years becoming a half-assed engineer instead of getting albums recorded and released." That statement probably has more merit for traditional bands who are more live performance-oriented, but I guess the point is to not take your eye off the ball. I wish I could have back the God knows how many hours I wasted reading threads that stretched on for a hundred pages about analog vs. digital and how well softsynths stack up to hardware. I don't do it anymore. Ripley's line from Aliens keeps coming back to mind: "All this bullshit you think is so important..."

Drop affect one of them. Now OSC randomly change pitch +-24 semitones. It never sounds so much analog like now. I think that theres no analog synth which could emulate so good that softsynth.
Btw analog synths sounds not enough digital so why bother about them?

The real question is how analog sound is interpreted by the brain. Is it digital at the synaptic scale?
If the ears pick it up, its analog. Regardless whether the ears are talented or untalented.
Take Subway's Jared for example.
