Great band :tu: I got one of their albums permanently on my player for the last couple of years. No small feat, as I kick out stuff quickly :D

And heavily electrified too. Definitely on spot of topic :)

And thanks Ben. Will make my links smaller. [EDIT: To minimize the link you have to make a gab before and after the link when underlining it]

What about the song "Sadness" by Enigma ?

Users can also go to their profile and disable video preview, saves a lot of loading, then only the links to the vids are displayed in the post.

If you open the door for that, then you got to listen to Acid folk by Perplexer too :scared: :hihi:

Post

Well, Sadness does qualify somehow but holy crap it sounds cheesy now a days, especially the infamous out-of-context pan flute. It sounded terrible then and even worse now

Or Afro Celt Sound System - Lovers of light

I'm going out of subject here, since they don't really do electronic music, but they are a fantastic band, had the pleasure of seeing them live twice and it was amazing. They deserve to be heard :)

From Hungary - Hollóének Hungarica

Post

Yes, they deserve a listen. Welcome to the party Hungary. The Vikings* have already gathered, now it is time to get the rest of the world on board.

Speaking of Vikings, I found some tunes with a band called "Wardruna" among other things took part in composing music to the second season of the HBO TV series "Vikings":

Definitely on topic! Not much electronics though, but some deep synthbass drones, sequenced percussion and effects make their way to it.

* If you happen to be from one of those nations whose coasts we raided during the medieval centuries, know that we are deeply sorry. We just had some...eh...financial problems at the time...besides from being a little bored. We apologize and promise never to do it again.

This stuff is amazing and different, IMO of course. It has a bit of a carnival sound to it but it may fit some of what you are after. http://troldhaugen.net/

"Gimme gimme gimme a troll after midnight"?
Well I think we are drifting a little away from topic here, but thanks for contributing

BTW: They sound more like a carnival "war party". I wouldn't expect any guests to be alive when they are done :scared:

Here's some diverse groups and musicians, somewhat related to topic, but not sure about middle-ages..., but I must recommend Altan Urag too, Mongol group, not electronica, (not sure if there is some synth hidden in the layers somewhere,) mostly traditional mongol instruments mixed with different instruments from all over. Drumsets and in one case flamenco guitar. Great drive to their music:

Here's more Mari Boine:

Ulytau, Kazakh group, more metal-based usually, but some electronica(ish) and classical elements blended into it sometimes, like this track:

Soil bleeds black, North American medieval inspired folk band. I remember I chatted some with them back in the days of IRC and I thought their name was strange and didn't take them so seriously, until I heard their music:

OK, I think I'm diluting the topic now, so enough for now. But let me know if you're interested in more stuff like this.

PS: Troldhaugen is a great band.

Hi @gaf_thit. Thanks for contributing once Again.

Some have troubles loading all our videos at once, so can you diminish the size of the videos by underlining the link and then make a single space before and after the link (but within the underline symbols)?

This is the formula: [Underline start symbol] Space (Youtube link) Space [underline stop symbol]

Thanks Again.

Post

Hmm, seems to just diminish the size of the video, but my head don't work at full capacity right now. I remember I read how to just make it a clickable link somewhere, but...

Edit: Found it. Just click the "Do not automatically parse URLs" under the text window.
Reedit: No, that made them unclickable...Hmm, oh well. Copy/paste works too ;-)

Post

Diminishing is sufficient. Loads more quickly. Your links are not clickable now. If you just want the links but no videos just underline the links with no Space between start and end underline symbols, that is, just underline them. Should work. Otherwise you can put the links in quote and the videos will not show up. Thanks Again.

On a side note and as "curiosa" here about The Vikings, Steven Tavaglione, the sound designer behind the series uses the sounds from Leap Into The Void to "complete" the tunes of Wardruna into the right context.
