'Classic OB' - an Oberheim inspired preset pack for u-he Diva

After spending comparing u-he Diva with my OB8, I decided to go the whole hog and make a preset pack of my favorite OB8 sounds - and have a GUI / skin made for Diva in the Obie style...
This preset pack contains many authentic analogue style sounds which I spent hours tweaking to get as close to the real thing as possible. You can decide for yourself how close below and see if you can tell which Synth is Diva and which is my OB8.
80 presets included and 3 skin variations to transform Diva into an OB Classic!

Here is a blind test - you can discuss the test in the 'Instruments' forum.

And a 'Song Test' comparing the analogue vs Diva synth in a basic track format

Hope you like the sounds - they are available here for £19.99 Swan Audio |

honestly-
if I had not put myself on a purchasing moratorium, this would be an instant purchase.
for my ears (heretofore...) the Sonic Projects OP-X Pro II was as close as it got to the OB sound in VST world.
The sounds I am hearing from your demos show that Diva is QUITE capable of this sound as well.
This set is on the short list for after my spending freeze
massive Kudos!

Sounds great.
And like blortblort, I'll pick these up soon - though in my case, it's the darn bank putting a spending freeze on until pay day
Forgive me for my ignorance Monsieur Swan, but have you produced any other sound sets?
Cheers.

hi there Im SWAN808...no I generally have not been a huge fan of softsynths until recently with Diva and Id also say Serum I think is very high quality. Otherwise its been analogue gear for me and occasional hardware VA. The soundset business wasn't something I considered until I started doing the tests with Diva and my OB8...Doug1978 wrote:Sounds great.

I may do a couple of other sets for Diva and Serum depending on how it goes but this one is a labor of love because I really dig having my fave OB8 presets in Diva ready to go... I was quite suprised how close I could get and Im not kidding but I have't taken the cover off my Obie since...it sounds silly but the GUI also helps a bit as well as the sounds...its changed my relationship to Diva totally...

Wow! The real OB and Diva sound very close. I can't say which is the OB, and which is Diva. But Diva certainly saves you a lot of money if you're just after the sound, and not the nostalgia of the hardware.
Nice idea to create an "OB" soundset. The presets sound really good, and the skins make the virtual "OB" complete.
Cheers!

Thanks Frank - yes with the right settings Diva can get really close - in fact 60% people thought it was the hardware on GS and about 80% on KVR (or just said they preferred it...)...Krezie wrote:Wow!
