Hi,
Am hunting for the captioned plugin. No doubt that Valhalla Vintage Verb caught my ears. But I am pretty new to 3rd effect plugs so that's why I write to seek you guys' advises.
BTW, I have EARebound which is a very good creative delay plug. But would like to hear more comments on other < $100 delay plugs as well. Heard the demo of UVI's latest delay plug... Not my cup of tea.
Thanks!

For reverb I prefer Valhalla Room, the two NI/Softube ones are good too.
For delays I mostly use Tritik TkDelay and NI Replika although I'll prob be using UVI Relayer a lot more.

I've always been happy with delays in my DAW, however for weird delay effects, Ubermod is very versatile. It also does amazing lush reverb tails. Another delay I would maybe consider is that newish one from Sonic Charge, which looks very cool as well.
Reverbs are another story. I've never liked the ones in DAWs I've used. I really like the 2Caudio ones, but I got them at a good deal. 125 for each Aether and B2 (Aether group buy when it first came out and B2 second hand). If you can get a good deal (check the market place) on those I think they are worth it. I wouldn't usually pay 250 for a reverb myself. Otherwise I think 50 bucks for ValhallaVintageVerb is a steal.

I highly recommend Tritik Delay and Eos.
Tritik Delay has L/R independent timings, modulation and feedback. It has filters (hi pass, lo pass, bandpass, hi+lo pass), great overdrive, and an LFO. Really useful!
EOS is apparently partly or wholly programmed by Sean Costello of Valhalla. I find it very easy to use, and it can be quite wild if you want.
Check out the free TAL reverbs - 2,3 and now 4 also.
Echobode is a great delay with some crazy mod fx and a nice "smear" reverb kind of thing.

Once you get to a full mix, probably any reasonable reverb will give you acceptable results. Unfortunaly I am slightly obsessive about reverb and have never been satisfied with any reasonable reverb. For me, the right reverb is quite a personal thing so I would really recommend demoing a few to find the one that works best for you. At that price point, 2CAudio Breeze (at a discount price) was certainly on my short-list. However, I personally preferred Valhalla Room. Even better, at only $50, this leaves budget to also get Valhalla Vintage Verb, which I also love (and own), and those two give you a huge palette of fantastic reverb sounds to work with.

I nearly forgot the delay. At risk of sounding like a fanboy, Valhalla UberMod. Job done, and you get an awesome sounding chorus for free!

I'd just get Ubermod and Vintage Verb by Valhalla DSP and be done with it . I have Room too but gets no love VVV all the way , I have not used Room since I bought VVV , I try it in a track then go right back to VVV ....not that I don't like it , it's just that VVV has that sound and vibe to it . Ubermod has alot if different delays but also has chorus , reverb , reverse reverb/delay , flanger , tape warp / noise , so you are getting alot of fun with that particular plug . Alot of VST Hosts have good Delays and Reverbs as well ex. Reason, StudioOne , Logic , Ableton Live . Some people don't care for Live's Reverb, Live suite has an IR verb . I'd just get Ubermod and VVV ....

Similar story here, although I do still use VRoom on occasion, but, VVV gets used everywhere. Possibly the best $50 I've ever spent on a plugin. For delays <$100, check out:fedexnman wrote:I have Room too but gets no love VVV all the way , I have not used Room since I bought VVV , I try it in a track then go right back to VVV ....not that I don't like it , it's just that VVV has that sound and vibe to it .
- PSP Echo ($99), or
- Waves H-Delay (currently on sale for $69, even cheaper through third-party dealers).

Have a quick demo with B2 but I think VVV pleased my ears better. Just a simple simple SAW (with some de-tunes ) patch with VVV processing .... the patch turned to be a very nice lush pad.
for the delay. I will also would like to hear some comments on H-Delay.
