Never mind... Maybe Yamaha should buy Spectrasonics so that Omnisphere can be exclusive to Cubase...

Alas the Alchemy packs are the property of the creator of the presets - I don't remember any of them getting paid by apple so.....TheoM wrote:ok so interesting.. and way awesome!!
3000 presets is alot, that has to be alchemy complete just with categories renamed...
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

Camel Audio only did buyout deals, at least that is what I signed for Dream Voices.ericj23 wrote:Alas the Alchemy packs are the property of the creator of the presets - I don't remember any of them getting paid by apple so.....TheoM wrote:ok so interesting.. and way awesome!!

The entire Logic content package is over 100GB now. The alchemy stuff is around 15GB of that. It seems to include most of the previously existing expansion packs.masterhiggins wrote:http://www.apple.com/logic-pro/plugins-and-sounds/
The website says there are 14GBs of samples. Not sure how many gigs the total catalogue comprised of. I doubt apple would do more work than was necessary so I have to assume they included some content.
Alchemy itself has been greatly improved though. It's really "Alchemy 2.0"

I just checked what installed for the basic version which I installed with Logic 10.2 - the aaz files are the same format as before so old resynthesized files can be used in the new version.

Haha.. Must be a punch in the stomach for all the old customers now left back which don't use logic/osx.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

So you still owned the samples/content, Simon? I was always under the impression that you were commissioned by them for the library or you sold the samples to them. Good to know. Would love to use dream voices and never got a chance to buy it.Sampleconstruct wrote:Camel Audio only did buyout deals, at least that is what I signed for Dream Voices.ericj23 wrote:Alas the Alchemy packs are the property of the creator of the presets - I don't remember any of them getting paid by apple so.....TheoM wrote:ok so interesting.. and way awesome!!

So if you own them, you could potentially resell them now for the new alchemy?

Not really, the worst thing would be if it had disappeared completely, I'm more happy seeing it live onmurnau wrote:Haha.. Must be a punch in the stomach for all the old customers now left back which don't use logic/osx.

And the old patches work perfectly fine, just import them into the new library and you can play them
