Which drum synth you are comparing to?
Waldorf Attack (and some other drum synths, like Ultrabeat in Logic) has many slots played by keys. In mine the le edition, it has 12 keys. Everyone of these keys has a synth behind it. It could be more than one in one hit, after all the drums not only one sound at a time.
