Help me choose a synth

Thanks for all the great advice and suggestions, I will grab the demo versions and take it from there.

To answer some questions:

I do electronica and ambient music.

Serum sounds brittle and plastic to me.

Whoever mentioned that Synth1 is excellent, I agree: I use it in every project.

And I'm not trolling, I just wanted some opinions on what the best current all-round synth is. Sigh...

I suggest one of the following:

- IL Harmor (additive synthesis, but with great sound and can produce so many variations. It is a monster really)
- u-he Zebra 2 (already mentioned many time Very capable synth, semi modular with many kinds of synthesis)
- Waldorf Largo (wavetable synth and with Waldorf character)
-Waves Codex (how I forgot this wonderful synth ) This has a very nice character, can do so many kinds of sounds, from 'analogish' to 'screamy digital' more than some other wavetables synths.
