I highly encourage all Omni 2 owners to take a look at this amazing bank. In my humble opinion, it is Luftrum's best. :)

Cheers,

I second the feeling...trully inspiring stuff.

It also shows the remarkable sounds that omni 2 can achieve.

So is this soundset primarily just emulating famous sci-fi movie sounds? I'd hate to write something with it and then (because I haven't seen some particular movie) get accused of ripping off ideas from some movie I've actually never seen.

Obviously there are degrees to all this. The Bladerunner sound is reasonably generic, and already copied like mad everywhere, but how close are the other patches? I don't watch a lot of movies so am suspecting I might get ambushed if some of these sounds are exact replicas...

i definitely dig your statement, but you can still change the sound by its soundsource/wavetable?
otherwise u shouldnt buy any soundsets at all or use presets...

As Omnisphere is so widly used by scoring pros you may never know which sounds were used in which production.

IMO nothing wrong with using famous sounds as long as you don't copy the melodies etc. You can always go for "Hommage". :)

Not at all, the walkthrough might leave the impression that it's all emulations but it's far from that, in fact the emulations you see in the vid are the only true re-creations included in Luftrum Ambient 2 and you can steer clear of those by sorting the mini patch browser under genre -> emulations, then you get less that 10 patches. :)

The remaining soundbank consist of fresh and new innovative sounds - many might be sci-fi inspired or have a "touch of space" but are otherwise not trying to re-create or emulate existing sounds.

What really defines and shows the soundbank, are the audio demo's in the playlist on SoundCloud:

Great to see finally a Luftrum Omnisphere patch bank!
@Luftrum: Do you added also some of your own audio sources for this or did you use only the factory sound sources?
However, sounds really great (not that i don´t expected that :D )

Cheers!

I forgot to say thank you S1gns and cfancyc - I hope you enjoy the sounds. I also feel this is my best release ever and judging from the sales figures alone it is... but the right tool is half the job ain't it so? Omni 2 is such a powerful synth and making amazing sounds are just that easier when you got a bug-free, innovative and great sounding tool that just clicks with you in a snap. :)

Uhh... there was a discount.... too late :D
However, worth the full price. Excellent crafted patches and i really love the multis. Very musical and playable for many genres.
I really love those sci-fi themes a lot!

Really great patch bank!

Urgh, looks like I missed the intro discount too. :(

Guess I will just wait for a sale.
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.
