My Vigier Excalibur. It is everything I want in an electric. Sounds sweet as hell and plays like butter.

That's got to sound amazing, Warmoth parts are great. Does the hollow body add anything to the tone?
Yes it does...

The kinmans are really open as well

It adds a bunch of sustain and it is really light.

The next plays like butter, but I actually can't play

But my two favorite guitars are the ones I made myself. They are modeled after the Strat and the Tele but are wholly different beasts. I will try to post some pics of these beauties when I can.

What is your favorite guitar(s)?

Don't laugh too hard - Mine is the same '68 Fender Duo-Sonic my dad bought me when I was fourteen - the one I learned on, and my first tune was: "Outer Limits" by the Ventures!

Still sounds like it did when it was new - maybe somewhat mellower (like me) :hihi:

I must explain that my first instrument was the piano, then other keyboards...

My first guitar with electric capabilities was an EKO Ranger 6 Elektra, that my parents bought me 32 years ago (:o ?) ; still have it (my son has, in the moment  ), and altough I don't play guitar that often, I saw once on TV a guy playing jazz with one and it sounded awsome.

Only some years ago I bought a real electric guitar, still a very cheap one: a Peavey Raptor; not the best thing in the world, if you ask me :?

Someday I'll buy a Les Paul :D But I have to hurry because I play less and less guitar, and someday I can't play at all.
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

I'm considering to change the pickups of my Peavey Raptor (a Stratocaster clone). Any idea whose should be the best? I want a... fat sound ("buy a Les Paul", I know), mellow...

Current favourite's an Ibanez Ghostrider in orange sunburst. Don't see many orange ones about these days, if anyone else has one - let me know (curiosity) :)

ps. oh yeah, plays like a dream and sounds like a whore being poked in the Gary Glitter, etc. etc.

my 12 string
it even makes me sound good

Seymour Duncan Little '59's, JB Jr.'s, or Cool Rails would all help. The Little '59 is basically a Gibson PAF (the pickups found in Les Pauls) replicas in the size of a single coil so it'll fit right in to your Raptor. I've got two in my own Warmoth strat & they sound great.

I like my `81 Gibson Invader. Its like a Les Paul with a bolt on neck, Grover tuners, dot inlays (I dont like big inlays), and the pickup selector in the "right" place down by the knobs :)

Jax,

Try the Dimarzio HS-3 or HS-2. I have those in my Strat along with a pretty twisted switching scheme that allows me to go from a Tele like twang to a very heavy dual humbucker sound.

Also look into the S.D.'s as Uncle E suggested; all these pick ups sound different so use your ear to decide what's best for you.
Your penis is a weapon. protect it and keep it dry.

My favorite electric is my G & L ASAT Classic. My favorite acoustic is a 1936 National Duolian resonator.
