Excellent as ever, Claire. I agree with Vurt about the different versions, altho' I'd like to hear a bit more variety in the beats of the version with drums .... perhaps some glitchy microbeats / cliks and pops instead of the looping beat? Just an idea....

Is this a taster from the your new album? Looking forward to hearing it all

BTW, I love the cello sound as an instrument. As I don't play it I use very often Cellofan instead (Sound Keys Magazine). Do you know it? I apreciate your comments on this little VSTi...

Definitely keep the drums... Although, yeah, maybe add another beat or two here and there. You could take one-shots from the loop and add them at a different place in maybe every second instance of the loop. That would then sound like it's evolving... Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I'm preaching

Still, great track as it is... Oh, don't take anybody's opinion too seriously...

the Plain version is my favorite, without any doubt

the drums are kind of 'void', or flat, they don't add anything to the experience,

i'd say they don't allow the music to fully reach the emotional and mystical spheres it was made for.

if i have time.. and there's always some time to be found i'll do something else with that percussion.. a bit more variety

I love this sound Claire, reminds me a little of Secret Garden but you mood is more ambient and soothing for some reason; brooding almost. I'm listening to Horizons at the moment, there's a lot of emotion in the cello playing on that track.

The plain one is soaring and its emotions are pure and felt. The drum-one somehow is more guiding and with that is more leveled. Commercially the drum-one would probably work better, but I choose the surprising elements of the free floating plain version.

The spaces of the instrument parts sounded a bit 'disjointed'. You got Space Designer on a send there at all?

I do like the percussion, but personally, I think it's the wrong type of percussion. The part that starts at :50 with the snare, personally I think would sound better with some ethnic percussion, and little change drop ins between 8 measures to give it better accent. A nice Udu on the bass end to set the rhythm bottom end, and some shuffling of smaller hand drums to give some accent.

Least, that's what I hear in there personally. I LIKE the drum idea, just not the drums themselves.

Hehe, I quite liked the drum part, reminded me a bit of some of ye olde cocteau twins stuff. Still a bit too much evil reverb for my liking though, but you ambient bods just wont be told!

Oh my God .......... Clare, you are my hero, (if I can have a woman as a hero) my mentor, and an example to all those that want to aspire to your level of greatness. This is just another example of how music can wash over your soul and leave you relaxed and refreshed, all at the same time as to help your mind look inside of itself and see absolution. I have been remiss in my attendance to your site as of late, but this chance meeting on this forum has reminded me that I would make that mistake again. I still think that your Ambiencellist is one of the best musical contributions I have ever heard. I cherish the copy I have, and play it often, not only for my own enjoyment, but also for friends that visit.

I purchased a new softsynth just a couple of weeks ago, solely for the reason that your cello is a sample in it. I don't know how Cameleon got your cello into their program, but it is great, and I intend to use it very soon.

I have listened many hours the last night through to the CD, wow , can just recommend the "ambiencellist" to anyone round here who still hasn't got it . You'll find wonderful music that sounds as nice as the titles of the tracks... Really wonderful. From the both versions here I'd prefer the solo-version too, as the cello is simply too, how should I put it good for the drums?. Nothing against them, but they are not as new or good as the outstanding Cello is, in my opinion.
