Several months ago we´ve published "Sample This! -A Sample Guide for Starters-". This is an PDF-format eBook with 80+ pages with everything about samplers, recording sessions, 100+ profi tips and much more. Sample This! includes 2 sample CDs (1 CD-R format Akai S1000 and 1 audio CD). Currently it´s available in german language only and since it´s available it´s very popular. There´s a print version too, available from audio-workshop.de.

Now: If there is demand in english language too we´ll translate it. So please give us your vote and your comments. Thanks!

As long as the price is reasonable i think you'll find a market. If it treads too familiar ground and is too expensive though, thay are many alternative books and resources.

But in thoery it sounds good.

Update Info:

"Sample This!! second edition" now available in english language.

I´m happy to introduce Simon Cann http://www.noisesculpture.com as the new co-author and he did a great work and a content update too. Here are some detailed infos:

Sampling is becoming increasingly important for the non-keyboard player. Drummers are used to working with loops – perhaps loops they have created themselves. But now sampling technology is at a stage where rather than just replace individual sounds, it is easier to ask the drummer to provide a midi track rather than mic up a kit. Guitarists and bassists are being sampled and then someone also needs to understand how to edit and deploy the samples. And, of course, engineers need to understand how to sample rather than just record. The musician who cannot understand and work with the new technology will become increasingly marginalised.
Sample this!! is a practical guide for musicians about using samplers to make music (rather than just explaining what the knobs do). It has been written for musicians who are looking to expand their understanding of how to use the most modern tools that are available to them.

The book explains the sampling process from source through to how to deploy samples using the latest sampling tools such as software samplers with disk streaming and RAM saving features, loop﷓based tools and specialist editing tools.

Not only is the book packed with hundreds (literally) of tips from professional musicians with years of experience of sampling and maintaining a large commercial sample library, but it is also accompanied by two CDs with over 1000 samples so that readers can put the suggestions in the book into practice immediately.

Sample this!! also contains a supplement covering the current sample and sampler market making it essential reading for all sampler users.
