Hi folks!
Is it just me, or Vertigo pretty much always goes under the radar when we discuss about resynthesis synths? I know it's been around since some time and it's an old guy, but I almost never hear of it or very rarely.
For the first time I decided to give it a try, and what a great surprise. Yep the GUI is not very user friendly and feels pretty old I admit, but sound wise I'm really surprised. For bizarre, atmospheres, textures and experimental sound design and research, this thing seems to really deliver interesting sonic results.
What do you guys think of this thing? So far, I like it! For 55$ (it's in sale right now) I think it's a no brainer for resynthesis lovers.

It's a plug I struggle with, can't get my head around it
That's why I haven't got round to upgrading to 3.5 yet.

I did a a-b-c comparaison with harmor (beta) and alchemy 2. You don't get exactly the same result but it can compare. But you'll get more control on your sound (parameter to tweak) with harmor and alchemy.

A solid facelift I agree. Interesting sound nonetheless

vector-based (à la Bliss), or in the same vein as Discovery Pro would be good and convenient.
Hiring a designer like SatyaTune or LimeFlavourwould be outstanding

I don´t understand what´s wrong with the interface? It´s all there and it´s pretty straight forward.
I tried this, and the demo of Cube, and I think Cube has a more crisp sound, and with the FFT editor interesting resonances and comb filtering effects can be made.
I´d like to have the option to use small window sizes like 128 or so for more artefacts, and also a freehand FFT editor like in Cube would be great. Also having a few more states to morph between would be great.
Alchemy is way better, but I´m moving ti Linux now, so I think I might buy this anyway. I´m not still sure how well Alchemy will work under Winde and a bridge in Bitwig...
Harmor has a lot cleaner sound, especially with hissy sounds and sharp transients, but it lacks the morphing option, which is a deal breaker for me. I've yet to check out IL´s Morphine, how it competes.

Well, they are working on version 4 they told me, so it´s not still quite abandoned.

My hope for version 4 is a freehand draw tool on the FFT Operations section. Would practically be an Iris killer if it had it (especially given the price)

Vertigo 4 will get a GUI revamp amongst other goodies

Great. I have played with VirtualANS lately, the image export\import in combination with Gimp is a lot of fun... Something similar would be great! Since VirtualANS does not do morphing, and anyway is not a realtime plugin.
