For the last few years NI were too lazy to write new synths from the ground up, so they were building Reaktor ensembles instead. Now they have become even more lazy so they streamlined the Reaktor's interface in order we could build them ourselves. What's next?

:D
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

30 Blocks are described, is that the total number of Blocks, or are there more included?

I think being able to split any ensemble and use any ensemble to form new ensembles is simply brilliant and has huge advantages over the vst format. This alone makes such a platform quite intriguing and limitless. I'd like to see vst 4.0 be able to split and use parts of vsti together :tu:
100 High Quality Soundsets: Omnisphere 2, Dune 3, Tone 2 Synths, Pigments, Uhe Synths, Halion, Spire, and others.

"EDU Products must not be used for commercial purposes, and must not be resold or transferred. EDU Products are exempt from update, upgrade or crossgrade offers, and cannot be purchased with or exchanged for vouchers or coupons. "

This renders the educational option somewhat less attractive though.
however, this is pretty much the norm with edu versions... in fact, there are only few companies that don't have exactly these or slightly less "hard" restrictions. i think it's still a good deal if you really don't have much money - if you start making an income from your music you can still upgrade, i guess.

apart from that i'm really excited for this - finally the gui gets some love too in reaktor :D

From Reaktor 7 on, we will be able to build new versions of Reaktor in Reaktor.

For 200 bucks kind of a no-brainer, right?
hmm... depends on who considers it a no-brainer.
For 200 bucks I got Komplete 9 some time ago... that was closer to a no-brainer IMO.

Remember that today's software market is way different than it was even couple of years ago and keeps changing faster than before...

High prices for software are beginning to turn into history!

Users could do that in Reaktor 5 too.

I wonder if it is so easy to extract blocks in practical use in R6, as the release notes say...

Getting a bit of Guitar Rig feeling. Just blocks instead of racks. (With much better routing)
All GR effects in blocks is bye bye Guitar Rig?

I wasn't aware of that, cool! Yes, I guess that would be the key indeed :D

f%#k hell... :o
isn't this the "price per kb" most expensive update ever?...
:-P :hihi:
The 14 MB's the downloader app; it's how NI handles larger downloads these days.

Considering what you get with Reaktor, compared to some other VST price tags...Serum alone ist 189 bucks, and it's only one synth... I'd rather dive into the Reaktor user library for 11 bucks more... :tu:

Of course I'd wait for some sales to buy it - and 200 bucks for K9 is really sth - was it a sale or a 2nd hand buy? :o
