This all looks very slick, and the modular blocks idea seems like the next logical step for Reaktor. My biggest bugbear is NI creating cool instruments in Reaktor, but then they gobble cpu. Hope they've made some optimisations in v6. Haven't spotted anything yet in the blurb.

Both Primary and Core Macro libraries have been re-organized for ease of use with new categories and more intuitive folder structures. This makes prototyping and instrument building workflows more efficient. The Core library macros have been re-written for improved sound quality and more efficient use of CPU, letting you build more complex devices that sound better than ever. The library is also extended to include new anti-aliased oscillators, ZDF filters, envelopes, LFOs, effects, and sampler macros that make use of the Table Framework.

For 200 bucks kind of a no-brainer, right?
hmm... depends on who considers it a no-brainer.
For 200 bucks I got Komplete 9 some time ago... that was closer to a no-brainer IMO.

Remember that today's software market is way different than it was even couple of years ago and keeps changing faster than before...

High prices for software are beginning to turn into history!
Considering what you get with Reaktor, compared to some other VST price tags...Serum alone ist 189 bucks, and it's only one synth... I'd rather dive into the Reaktor user library for 11 bucks more... :tu:

Of course I'd wait for some sales to buy it - and 200 bucks for K9 is really sth - was it a sale or a 2nd hand buy? :o
If you have Komplete, you could (at least in the past) wait until the upgrade and pay 150... or even wait until the half off sale and pay 75...

Reaktor 5 and lower have been rather kludgey to work with to the point I don't use it.. it just kollects virtual dust in a virtual kloset. The blocks, at least from the video, do make it seem as if the ease of use has been improved.

But that still doesn't resolve the issue of it being a middleman.. if NI can remove at least the appearance of that middleman and directly list Reaktor-made synths and effects as actual VSTs, that would really enhance the workflow I think in using Reaktor as a musician and non-builder.

Looks like a lot of stuff released with Komplete 10 has just become redundant like Rounds and Molekular, even Monark. Most of the modules of this stuff is in Reaktor 6 now.

The Crossgrade price is for people who have purchased Maschine 2 with the software update

You need to buy it. It's NOT if you have the software and MK1 that you can crossgrade

Great news! I was holding out for an Absynth update before I went for a Komplete upgrade, but this could be an equally good reason.

Rounds is not redundant - only delay and reverb were lifted, but not the oscillators or filters.

I'm liking the sound of some of those example synths they've constructed with blocks. As they've given each a name I assume those combinations are included in R6.

More info added at NI, seems like the user library is the same as in R5 (70 or so included)

It was on sale right before K10 and got it as a cross-grade for FM8

No use comparing with Serum.... another -expensive- software... the heck with them all :x ... :hihi:

Really like the look of the new blocks. Bento Box modules remind me of Mutable Instruments' stuff.

I never did get as much out of R5 as I should have. Definitely will be giving this a look.

Awesome - Reaktor finally has a proper modular layer.

Can I hold back to wait for K11, that's the big question?

Hope there is some kind of grace period.

I would be kicking myself now if I had bought Reaktor 5 last week :hihi:
