Nick Blatt made a good point on Sonic Talk today in that the module/block concept could be another stepping stone of NI's into the hardware realm. I could see a NI Eurorack module acting as a USB to CV/MIDI/Audio bridge between R6 and hardware modules. Fun stuff.
Anyway, ordered and waiting on my serial number. Oh and if anyone has a subscription to AskVideo/MacProVideo they've already got about 5 hours of tutorial vids on R6 covering developing a synth from scratch and covering blocks. Looks like NI's been pretty stealthy with their press.

There need to be some more big version updates for K11BDeep wrote:I'm so surprised this release doesn't coincide with the release of Komplete 11. I can't imagine they fancy the idea of shipping an old version of one of their flagship products for an extended period of time.

Been playing with it for a few hours... love the blocks, and think it could be a really interesting boost to the user library... can't wait to see what happens over next few weeks/months.
ADSR have just published a few videos on YT on creating blocks, good stuff doesn't look to complicated.
(though seems we are heading more and more toward Core and away from Primary)

It's a bit of a shame that Reaktor 6 wasn't coded for multi core CPU support
I guess that they didn't feel like re-coding the whole thing...
But one day the're going to have to deal with that "oversight",because Reaktor can be pretty demanding...
No auto tune...

It seems that the idea was discussed during alpha and beta stages, but in the end it turned out to be waaaaaaaaaaay too much work. Complete modularity comes at a price of lack of parallelism, really (you can't spread out processing to more cores that work concurrently as easily as you might think, if at all). I guess they could make it so that new voices are calculated each in its thread, but what if the voices interact in some way (as it's possible to do in Reaktor)? Again you get a huge problem.digitalboytn wrote:It's a bit of a shame that Reaktor 6 wasn't coded for multi core CPU support![]()

It's definitely not a minor thing, and frankly I'm not sure it's possible with the way Reaktor is designed. Better get those 10 GHz CPUs.

Update price : Most people seem to consider Reaktor as *a part of Komplete* ( And so do I btw
) , but I know some guys who only have Reaktor, or only a couple of NI things. I think for this hardcore Reaktor fans, NI has put the cursor right where it was meant to be to make them happy. Not really sure that Komplete 11 wil be soon there also.

Yes I think most of us are really waiting for a Komplete 11 upgrade to get everything updated including Reaktor...

This is a hard one to swallow, but it doesn't make sense to purchase an upgrade right now to Reaktor 6.
Komplete 11 must be around the corner... sometime soon.
Kontakt should be next... Well I hope it is next to receive an update.
Seeing as how this goes, I definitely understand why Adobe switched their business model around.

I don't think that the K11 is around the corner because NI doesn't want to kill their single product sales
I think more it will be 2016 or November / December

Yeah, I think sooner than that. I don't think its so much about worry of killing sales, as opposed to requiring continual revenue on a finished product.MillerSam wrote:I don't think that the K11 is around the corner because NI doesn't want to kill their single product sales

Adobe would hold their products until they were all ready for release, which I'm sure hurt them financially.
NI is obviously not doing that here, but it does place a strange set of circumstances for Komplete owners.
Do you buy now, upgrade to K11 later, and possibly sell the duplicate upgrade license to another user (who must also have the previous version to upgrade from)? Or... Do you just eat the cost for the benefit of being an early adopter?
Oh and anyone expecting a 50% off K11 upgrade, don't hold your breath. NI typically does this when the next Komplete version is imminent (which is a big reason why I think K11 must be around the corner... They just did their 50% upgrade to K10).

You wait until Komplete 11. Anyone who has used komplete for a long long time know to wait.
