While they do often release several new products (synths or upgrades to existing things usually) at the same time as a new Komplete, there is usually a fair amount of additional sample content that gets released in between new Komplete versions, so that they have a lot of new stuff to add to Komplete Ultimate. But they haven't been releasing many sample libraries since K10. There was an acoustic guitar library and emotive strings. I think that's it.
Don't forget that NI actually introduced six brand new products as part of Komplete 10 which hadn't been available previously: Rounds, Kontour, Polylpex, The Gentleman, The Maverick, and The Grandeur.

If NI have some new products up their sleeve right now, I bet that's when we'll hear of them. So I'm still in the Sept/Oct of this year camp. Although as Evil Dragon mentioned there was about a year-and-a-half gap between K8-K9 and K9-K10... it's too early to say whether that's a pattern, but could hint they've shifted to an ~18-month cycle vs the ~12 month cycle they mostly followed since 2003. We'll see.

In the future....... Probably.

Sure, but that's just Komplete Standard stuff. A piano set of three pianos and a few Reaktor instruments. The majority of the content came out before. Look at all the stuff that came out since the previous one that was added to Komplete Ultimate. From memory: Drum Lab, Action Strikes, Cuba, Molekular, Supercharger GT, Kinetic Metal, Rise & Hit, Session Horns Pro.

Now that they have the two versions of Komplete, they need enough content to update both Ultimate and Standard at the same time. And I just don't think that will happen over summer or even fall. My guess is Q1 2016.

What I'd really like to see - at last! - is an updated SERVICE CENTER. Until now I can't use any application of Komplete Ultimate - except Kontakt - because of that multiprocessor bug NIL-596. :(

Post

Well I am in agreement that a new Service Center would be great. It needs to have better options, as well as the ability to insert a serial number and have a download available...not just for updates but for products that are missing.

That being said, I also would love to see them do away with Komplete and Komplete Ultimate as two different products. Komplete should be, well, complete. It should be everything in their database not related to Traktor or Maschine.

By the same token keep Komplete Elements. Just name it N-Komplete (incomplete, ha). Keep it their base level products minus all of the sample libraries...etc. I like the idea of some Reaktor things being there because you can always download the player.

Two products. One for $199, one for $999. That keeps it pro level.

I'd also like to see a way to just enter KU serial number and then everything is licensed. Reinstalling the OS is a nightmare because you have to re-install all the sampled instruments again, even though they are already on a HD partition just because the installer has to run to get them added to the Service Center. Very frustrating it isn't as though it's a quick job...

No matter what's in K11 I hope they finally do something about the itsy-bitsy aliased fonts!

I have a strong feeling (as opposed to a weak feeling) that something
gooood will happen soon. Perhaps Komplete 11 or something
else will be released.

Monday I said this week Reaper 5 will be released and sure enough it
was. Well for the last year I have been saying this every week.
So it can be said that I have a perfect record! :D :tu:

With the Reactor 6 announcement, does anyone think that means we won't have a Komplete 11 release this year?

Post

Yes buy Reaktor 6 now and when Komplete 11 is released and you buy it you will have two versions of Reaktor 6. Wow, how wonderful.

I suspect they will follow Stienberg's example of Cubase 6.5 with Padshop and then upgrading to V7. They had two upgrade paths IIRC. One from V6 ans anther one from V6.5.

I have K8 so I hope it is included in the discounted upgrade path to K11. If I knew what will happen and for how much I would likely purchase Reaktor 6 now.

Post

If you have basis for updating to Reaktor 6 that is not tied to Komplete, you can sell that Reaktor 6 when you upgrade to the next version of Komplete...

If you're buying Reaktor as its own product, you can sell it after you upgrade Komplete anyways.

(And yes, you can update from any Komplete version you might have to the newest one.)

The real question for me is: Given the new low price of reaktor, will it still be an option for crossgrade to komplete? Right now R6 doesn't appear as crossgrade option on NI site.

I don't recall if Reaktor was ever a crossgrade option, only Kontakt was.

Reaktor was, I think GR may be the other one, pretty sure there were 3 crossgrades available

plus occaisonally NI has offered the crossgrade from anything deal, like the k8 spring upgrade special that let you crossgrade from something like absynth4

"This crossgrade only works for users of KOMPLETE KONTROL S25-61, MASCHINE 2 software (included with MASCHINE STUDIO, and new purchases of MASCHINE and MASCHINE MIKRO), KONTAKT 1-5, REAKTOR 2-5, GUITAR RIG KONTROL 1-5 (but not LE, GO, XE, SESSION or other versions of GUITAR RIG)."

Crossgrade costs double of upgrade though :(
