hi laurent,
you do realize that aloysius on page 1 of your thread was the first to mention DUNE (he even spelled it with capital letters as it is intended by synapse audio)?
cheers
Hi Gosh,

I realize this so well that I wrote yesterday the following in the thread of the second DuneBank :

"We might have a second winner as Alysus did guess it too, without any clue or hint in the first place iirc. Please contaxt me Aloysius ( cos you edited your post so well .... not sure if I remeber correctly ) "

Just that I made a mistake and I posted it in the wrong thread ( was a bit exhausted yesterday )

Technically speaking, neither Aloysius nor Doc Jon did win, because the number of the Nth position was 3, and Aloysius guess it 1rst, then Jon 2nd, and nobody did guess it in 3rd position. But as I wanted to release the banks a bit sooner than schedulled, the game did not last as long as I intended. So I decided to give their prize to all those who did guess it right.

Hence, I'll offer this Dune Soundset to both Aloysus and Doc Jon, and therefore we have two winners : ALOYSUS and DOC JON.

the patch 22 FX dubsetp socratch is violent but delicious sound like analog with soul for me !
if you want some filter movement just add this line into the matrix

One of the many FX in the banks wich should be usefull in all electronic genres.

A possible way to use this patch is to alternate very short and long notes, then use Aftertouch or Mod Wheel to var the modulation rate of the LFO 3.

So you can build transition with this one; but also all kind of creepy rythmic lines.

Then its also a very good idea to add the modulation you described, and to add volume compensation, or to assign the cut off to the expression pedal to untie the filter action.

And yes it can quite become quite violent like in ......... " Violently happy" :)

No Worries, Christophe, I'm really pleased that you enjoy the patches.

In electronic music all kinds of hits are often usefull to ponctuate and put emphasis on the beat.

Space Hit can pe played in two ways : Staccato and its a hit ( wich will be very present in HI freqs ), and sustained will give you a kind of space whistle. If you sustain the patch and use the real time controllers, you can perform a variety of morphings.

Thanks

I use this pad in the "On a marché sur la lune ( dune ?) " demo

If you use aftertouch you can have another modulation, especially noticeable if you play notes in the lower register.

You'll note that the rates of the different LFOs are not synced to Midi, and are not exact multiples of the other LFOs, and this gives the special beating in the pad if you use Aftertouch : Its tuned by ear.

So in this patch you can adjust the LFO rates by ear to the tempo of your track, and this will give -imho- the best results. To keep the "beating".

However, I have indicated in the designer note of this pad that for those who prefer the robotic feel of synced LFOs, they should sync to midi the LFO2, and probably give it a value of 8th notes.

This is really seriously cool in Dune that you can have designer notes embedded in each preset. Very usefull to transmit users whatever information the SD find could be meaningfull to musicians using the preset.
