I am really wondering what's wrong on your end technically
Is it worth getting Serum if I already have Synthmaster?

Could you please do me a favor and try it now? I will also check out the progress from the server logs. I just tested with your credentials and got the same expected result.

Maybe look at what is so different between my "credentials in the user area" and the direct link you sent me? As the direct link seems to work the majority of the time on this end, whereas the user area does not. So it can be reasoned by deduction, the problem isn't with my end. Otherwise, the direct link would present the same result.kv331 wrote:Could you please do me a favor and try it now? I will also check out the progress from the server logs. I went ahead and tried again with your credentials and it worked. I also checked your download history from our server logs, according to the logs the file was prepared on the server and server starting serving it to the browser client.BBFG# wrote: Which never happens on the core engine download.
I only got that page last time through the direct link you sent,
which opens the browser and then goes to that.
In the past, if I'm consistent in trying over and over again and get lucky (and this has only been for small sound-set files, never large ones or engine software updates)... I have got to this page also. But generally speaking, it's nightmare of wasted energy most of the time.
EDIT: I am changing the download page so there will be an option for the user to receive an offline download link. This should make everyone happy I guess.

Which you can tell by the times in repetition that it obviously didn't.
I have found if it doesn't connect by that page, to try again and hope. (Futile as that has been).
I've also noticed that the times it has truly connected,
there is an extra line on the page "your download will start shortly..."
Only then does it give me a link on that page which says "click here".
All the previous failed attempts (and apparently your server is telling you they aren't)
Show no such line or link. It simply disappears to the next blank page and stays there indefinitely.
Without any download box ever popping up.
Hope this works.

This does seem like it might be the simplest solution all around.kv331 wrote: EDIT: I am changing the download page so there will be an option for the user to receive an offline download link. This should make everyone happy I guess.

man, can someone just change the name of the thread?
this question is just redundant to many/most/all music makers and synth lovers... both are great instruments. period. as one pretty famous electronic producer once said: today you can get pretty much every sound with every type of gear, the only thing that differs is the road you're gonna take until you get there (as always exceptions prove the rule). i think it really don't matter what triggers your creativity - as long as it gets triggered after all. just saying... thanks for listening and out again

Sometimes SM works better than Serum.
The first version had Serum for the "Virus" like unison stack. But it doesn't sound good enough for me. I created the pluck with SM and it works
So... does it really need Serum if I already own Synthmaster? It depends of the needed sounds!
This a very early short idea as an example.. the "church organ" in the intro is from SM and the pluck sound (which sounds a bit like a Virus unison sound) is also from SM.

It's really about the level of investment that's made into any synth, hard or soft - both on the part of the users, as well as the dev's -
Long term: I recommend synthmaster because you actually have the dev right here, talking to all of us, evolving his product -
Bulent is so friggin' cool, that if a consensus of users on KVR voices wanting a given feature implemented in SM, he'll try his best to deliver - he's always listening -
Also keep in mind that there's a version of SM that runs in iOS, too

I dont know if this helps but the same thing happens to me whenever I try to download via a download manager (in firefox). When I save using the default downloader "save as" it works.BBFG# wrote:Which never happens on the core engine download.kv331 wrote:You are not taken to a blank page, this is what you are supposed to see:BBFG# wrote: It's only when I enter my info from the user area that I get taken to a blank page that stays until I close it.

How often do you want to repeat this story anyway? Obviously only two out of supposedly thousands of customers have this problem, so one can safely assume that's a typical Layer 8 error.BBFG# wrote: Wait until the newest update is done, redone by customer complaint and everyone else seems to be okay with it.
Don't try to download that file for the first week it is out.
After the usual fails in connecting to download (btw, the purchase link always works perfectly),
Contact him again and wait for him to send a link (because it's the only one that works).
Copy all patch/files before installing as they have had a history of breaking and even erasing that compatibility.
Some people...

It appears neither of you read enough.
Bulent has added a "send a direct link to my email",
which hopefully will solve it since that has worked for me in the past.
(and operates under the same browser, download manager , ISPs, etc).
But keep bouncing it up there.

Since the OP already owns Synthmaster and the thread has become more about Synthmaster issues without the OP being present... Maybe it's time for the administrators to just lock this thread and let the other KV331 thread handle it.kv331 wrote:Guys let's move on to the real thread discussion
I thank Bulent for implementing something workable.
But this thread seems done.

Long Thread, for sure, but learned a ton. Demoing Serum and Synthmaster 2.76 now. For me, Synthmaster is the better choice. Problem is ..... Sylenth1 v2.2 and ImpOSCar2 Demos remain to decide. Older, but 'Classic'. ImpOSCar2 Pads are nice.
Can anyone go a bit OT here and advise how Synthmaster v2.76 compares
BTW, I own Omnisphere 2 (nice pads as well) and Spire (recently) ... just to clarify as I add more Synths for their unique attributes.
Regards,
