I wonder how many FX you can run at the same time on the card. Looks pretty damn cool.

I have a 1212m and I like it a lot; for the price it is outstanding.

Don't get too horned up about the efx. Consider them a bonus for the quality io and mixer and patching capabilities. You can get about 2 verbs plus a few extras going. Nothing in there that is better than average native plug-ins but they do take a load of the puter. The release says that they have optimized their code so maybe we'll get a few more efx running at the same time. I'd guess that more effects will be released as well. I haven't been able to get it to work with system link yet through spdif running Cubase 5.2 on 98Se with Oasys to VStack on XP with emu 1212m but that could be the OAsys' fault. I don't know anyone who is running system link on Oasys so the problem could be on that end.

The efx are pretty bland but I have changed the verbs together and got a nice sound out of them. It should be a nice addition and maybe third party types will get in there and exploit the chip.

Sorry to dampen the hype but the efx just aren't in the same league as the card's io, patching etc and they can't compete with most average vsts. - My two cents. - Scott Harris

maybe we'll see an expansion card with more quality effects.

Doesn't the emu use a powercore chip?

Kind regards
