Looks great.

Will it run under Mac OS X 10.6.8, like Amplitube 3 does now?

I just finished doing a comparison between Dual Rectifier and Brainworx mega single, and so far I can get 95% of the way matching the two. I'll have to work on the EQ of Amplitube to close the difference between the two. Basically the eq of brainworks is a bit more mid heavy than the one in Amplitube but other than that it is hard to tell a difference between the two. So if your still on the fence about the mesa collection, specifically the Dual Rectifier I say

. It is very deep with controls but it's just as good as a $150 sim/with work. great job IK.

Ok, no guitar at the moment, but found an old demo track / in my 20GB of demo tracks folder/ and re-amped it with the new
IK Multimedia Mesa Dual Rectifier. Just installed the demo to try it.

Not too long ago I've made a jFet version of the lead cannel of the Mark IV.
IK multimedia did a great job on representing the connection btw the frequencies and reaction of the gain of this amp!!!

I think I'm going to get the MESA package here, but I'm concerned about the feature creep going on in Amplitube 4. Did we really need a DAW to be built into this? As if most people don't have a DAW already. Generally when we start to see feature after feature being added it's a sign that the underlying original technology has peaked.

if it has, Amplitube 4's Marshalls and almost-Amplitube 4's Mesas and Amplitube 4's cab section wouldn't sound as good compared to Amplitube 3. so no. apparently it still hasn't peaked

It really isn't much of a DAW, and really not much more than what was in A3.

The DAW part in Amplitube is there so guitar players can just start doing stuff with it without the need to buy a DAW too.

It is meant to allow a great launching point and to lay down guitar-based ideas in the standalone version so in that context it is handy. We don't think that people aren't going to buy a full-fledged DAW program or ditch their current DAW software by any means.

With regard to "not much more than what was in A3" I think in the above context that double the number of tracks, adding available EQ/pan/level to each track, much better editing split/copy/paste functions, reamping, better waveform display and export, etc brings much more to the table but YMMV as they say.
