i cannot judge your presets for THE MANGLE wagtunes (are they on the soundcloud page? i am missing nice mangle presets!), but the name "wagtunes" sounds ironic :P, i checked your serum presets some while ago, a massive pack 350 sounds! but what kept me off buying it was the "let's say it nicely" bad sound demo :(
no offense as i dont know u and RESPECT every sound designer (i suck at it!) but you should take down this demo and get some nice catching tune where the notes arent wildly played ;). again NO OFFENSE :P

out of respect and if the dev agreed with your mangle presets then it is not a professional way to NOT respond to you. either he should say "no im not interested" or just respond and tell you when he gets back etc. i dunno if it's worth waiting for him and getting more stress for this! i would think twice about it i i were u and concentrate on better services?
No offense taken. For the record, Serum is my best selling sound library. So maybe if I had taken YOUR advice and done a different kind of demo, it wouldn't have sold as well.

You will never please everybody and I don't try to. I go with what I think is best. I don't try to be like everybody else. I do my own thing. If it's not for you, fine. Others like my sound libraries and demos.

And that's all I care about.
no problem, but some people have some bad music taste i guess when thinking the demo is nice with all those wild played notes not even being musical ;D. guess i shouldnt care next time when i do OSC with careful chosen melodies :D. thanks for the tip!

if you do your own thing and dont care then dont spam this topic full with your soundset not being implemented in Mangle yet please, cause it seems u still care.... i will check back this topic when there are news about the synth itself. enjoy!
I wasn't spamming anything. I was wondering if anybody had heard from Tom as it's been 2 months since I've heard from him personally.

And please, don't even go there with this "spam" nonsense. Have you seen this forum. It's one ongoing ad. I could list you 100 threads of developers coming here announcing their new synth.

I wrote a longer reply here, but something snapped and away it went...

The jist of what I wrote was that there could be many reasons for the lack of communication unrelated to you. I have experienced many times that people I've communicated with on the net, have gone out of touch. Some times I have thought that it was something to do with me, when the real reason was some tragedy or other, loss of someone close, illness and once death.

There no way of knowing without the reason being communicated directly. 2 months can seem like a long time, but if it's some personal hardship 2 months can go fast without one caring or contemplating on time passing.

Give it some time, is my thought, without knowing anything about this case. I absolutely understand that you wonder and ask about this.
Looking on his blog, he doesn't strike me as one that is online that much, but I could be wrong. I know some people that can use up to 6 months replying to emails. Everyone's different.

(Sorry for babbling...I'm off to get more coffee...)

Then I'm sure those people can say the same about your music taste... Taste is like opinion, they're not facts. And frankly, I didn't listen to wagtunes Serum demo, but I'd prefer an original demo track than the recycled EDM shit I'm used to hear.

Again, your opinion since musical taste is all subjective.

slightly off topic but still: the commercial tutorials on toms website are now free to download. good news for everyone who doesn't own them already (there's one course on Logic's ES2 and one on Logic's Ultrbeat), but not necessarily a good sign in general i guess. could be an indicator that tom is indeed going out of business sooner or later as some here already expected. you can find the tutorials here: http://sound-guru.com/tutorials/

Well, this might explain a lot. It doesn't explain not at least giving me the courtesy of a reply explaining to me what's going on.

But nothing surprises me anymore.

ya. plus the idea that it is a 'bad sign' isn't something I'd agree with anyway. I'd consider it more of a 'loss leader' way of attracting traffic to the site, for the purposes of selling the mangle.

so... a good sign, I would speculate.

Does anyone know how to contact Tom? I bought the mangle in February and as I understand there is an update, but I didn't get any email with download links and Tom doesn't answer :c

I have contacted him multiple times with no response. I can only assume he is MIA.

Funny, I was just wondering tonight if I was up to date on The Mangle. No way to know really with no version numbers (that I could see) on the site or the blog. I assume that beta .9b is the current one. No biggie. I said from the beginning that this was worth the price of admission for the entertainment value. I still feel that way.

No, the current version is 1.0. This is from the email of Jun 12, 2015:
Phew, we got there eventually! The Mangle is still far from perfect, but I think it's ready for a 1.0 release.

I want to thank you all for your help, support and understanding through this rather long beta phase. This is my first commercial software release, and your help has been indispensable in fixing bugs, generating new ideas for features, and navigating the many complexities of releasing multi-platform plugin software. Thank you so much!

(..)

Releases will now become more infrequent, but they will not stop. And keep an eye on my website over the coming months, I have been working on something new which is progressing quite well....
