On the topic I wrote in the instruments forum about orion crashing if you bundle the samples to the sfs file. I think it would be good if there was a consensus of some kind so that whenever you want to send your files accross the net, and you have been using external samples ..(which there is nothing wrong with), then it's easy to open the files without having to repoint to the samples. Just until the bundling issue has been resolved. Only becoz it's not always that clear which files go where when you've been using aload of samples. Would it be a good idea to have a standard way of storing your samples, thus removing the problem I ran into earlier. The only problem here is that you wouldn't have the freedom to point the sampler just anywhere. It would save a lot of hassle though. Well I don't know if that would help or not anyway. bit confusing when i start thinking about it. what do you's reckon?

my method of working is way too unorganized to be thinking about things like that
its why I like being able to save bundled projects so much
I've never had a problem in the corrupted file dept with Orion....yet

Acid yes
but then once apon a time acid managed to corrupt every audio file in a project without them even being bundled with it.
the best solution I've come up with for that is to save after each new element is added (in orion I save each time I'm ready to add a new vst) so if there is problem I can just go back to the previous saved file without having to redo too much

yeah saving to new files at each stage is good idea but every time i bundle samples in orion it corrupts the file now. It takes away the possibility of sending files to people with all the samples included.

Many questions here:

OS ? RAM ? CPU ?
SWAP-FILESIZE ?
HD SPACE (C,SWAPpartition) ?

Is C:\ and the swap (partition?)
defragmented, the HD's scandisked ?

Do you have a clean WINimage to try with ?

As ORION has to build a big file everything has to be ok there !

everytime? what samples are you using? are they in the drumrack or sampler?

i have never experienced problems like that and i always bundle my samples when the songs finished to my backup-folder.

and these songs survived several win-newinstalls and a lot of different oplat versions from 3.06 til 5.5

:)

maybe you send richy the file so he can look after this?
