Has Fusor such a big usage? IMO the most used synth was Strobe.
Cypher with a overhauled GUI could also push the interest for this synth a lot. Unfortunately this synth is fallen a bit under the radar and this IMO because of the small GUI which makes is sometimes not so easy to use.

I bought the upgrade, Cypher was actually my favourite of the bunch but Strobe 2 will do for now
From quick browsing through the presets I must say they are about 1000 times better than in the first version, they were really a let down back then and sounded just bad, distorted and unusable at least for me. Good job!
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

I never really used Fusor. but if I'm not mistaken wasn't one of its features that you had global modulation between synths, effects? I didn't spend much time with Fusor but now that it's gone I'm going to miss it. So, it''s like a college girlfriend
In any case, I've been spending a lot of $ on things I don't need, and I don't need an upgrade to Strobe. So I'll definitely be purchasing it in the near future.
It's always been one of the easiest synths to get great bread-butter sound out of (love it for bass). And now it looks better all grown up. Jeez - another college girlfriend.

I own Synth Squad and was underwhelmed by it's output and turned off by it's high CPU usage. I never used the synths separately or in Fusor. I wanted to get rid of it but the high transfer fee got in the way and there wasn't much interest anyway. I guess I could use it to upgrade to Strobe 2, but that's still a C-note for something I neither need or want. Guess I'm stuck with it.

Upgrade price is way too expensive guys. I use to buy the bundle 170 € … Now the synth itself is about this price and the upgrade 79 € for 1 synth?
Well, without me then.

Yeah upgrade feels steep to me also as I cant see anything significant that has changed since Strobe v1 which still sounds awesome.. besides, I got the whole bundle for about the price of the upgrade (ok so it was a massive discount, fair enough). Anyhow, my favorite has always been Cypher so I'll be waiting for that.
For bread and butter high quality stuff I have way too many options already (including Strobe mk1).

Same feeling here. So if i buy the 3 updates i will be paying more than i've payed for the d-cam bundle? Strange upgrade plan i must say.akninganing wrote:Upgrade price is way too expensive guys. Strobe 2 adds an entire suite of effects, and features like preset morphing, that didn't exist in Strobe 1. Well worth the upgrade price for such an amazing sounding synth.

That's all it takes for you to be impressed! Ha, you're exactly the kind of person Fx is aiming for when they're doing a money-grab like this. You do everyone else a disservice by saying minor things like morph are worth 80$! sure it might be to you, but to more reasonable consumers its nothing new.billcarroll wrote:Strobe 2 adds an entire suite of effects, and features like preset morphing, that didn't exist in Strobe 1. Well, I was really looking forward to this, and now very disappointed now Ive downloaded the demo....
its seems quite buggy at the moment, within the first 5 minutes I found:
a) Menus don't work at all in Vienna Ensemble Pro 5
b) Multi dimensional Control support
- Pitchbend appear doesn't to work i.e. to do pitchbend slides
- Perf2+ doesn't appear to work ( I followed same procedure as I used for Perf1+/MW which does work)
note: I can get Perf1+/MW and PerfX+/PB to work... it obviously picking up by CC messages
(tested in VEP5 and also Logic Pro 10.2 / Mac OS 10.10.4)
Hopefully FXExpansion can get this sorted out quickly as it looks like a nice synth... but at this price point everything has to work
EDIT:
Pitchbend , currently you have to use PerfX to mod pitch
Perf2+ was my issue.
