That's what the HP filter is for.

SM57s have quite a drastic proximity effect and I can never get that from AT3. I say it all the time: Amplitube 3 in some ways sounds better than real amps, in that the amps need a lot less EQ in the mix than I've ever had to apply to real mic'd up amps. Whenever I've mic'd up an amp at home or in the studio, there's quite a bit of EQ'ing that ends up happening to get things into a happy place. AT3 has always sounded too polite, like it's been pre-EQ'd to sound good, which makes it less diverse in some ways. Anyway, that's just my opinion/experiences. I'm no expert.

A in that example sounded best to me because it sounded so raw.

1. There's the question of what formats to support (VST2 only, VST2/3, AAX PC/Mac, AU on Mac)?
2. What kind of stability problems would Amplitube now encounter? How big of a bug or incompatility warrants a code fix to get working?
3. What will this mean for automation (someone will surely ask that hosted effect parameters can be automated)?
4. What about VST effects that introduce their own latency? Users will think it's AT3. Reporting dynamic latency changes to hosts is a PIA.

I'm sure there's other reasons against, but the potential negatives don't warrant adding the feature IMO. DAWs are very flexible in what they allow (you could run multiple Amplitube instances with effects sandwiched in between, or use sends, busses, etc.) and there are other modular hosts you can run if you want to get even more creative.

What I am surprised about is that the Amplitube and T-Racks shells weren't combined. Perhaps latency was a concern since a lot of the T-Racks plugins introduce a bit, but I honestly thought IK would head towards having a single shell that worked for both product lines (after all the Custom Shop sells both sets of add-ons). Plus, as a user, I'd just like the option of adding a Neve EQ or LA2A or 1176 to my guitar chain using the T-Racks plugins I already own, and save all that as a single preset. It would make perfect sense.
you definitely made some good points here, but again peavey shows how (and that) it can be done properly - so far i haven't encountered compatibility issues, latency or other annoying stuff. one of the main points to me is that you can do all this inside the standalone version, which is really a time saver because when i want to play the guitar i just want to get the tone as fast as possible and don't want to call up a sequencer, either open a premade template or even insert tracks, plugins, etc... anyway this is just my view, it's surely not for everyone's taste :tu:

^ Revalver's vst module has been, and still is, broken in vst mode. It opens once and then never again. I've asked about it being fixed, with no response. But, well I'm used to using things inside a DAW now, although it would be nice to transfer presets over to the stand alone version someday(both revolver and amplitube).

Presets you save in AmpliTube as a plugin should be available to you in the standalone version. If this isn't the case, let support know. I may have misunderstood, though.

Instead of loading vsts inside Amplitube, I would b more interested in Amp effects being available as Vsts. Maybe some checkbox you click on the effect to enable vst mode so you don't get everything, but I do like how tracks modules are available outside that system. Especially with the new cabinets. Maybe just a checkbox for each section of Amp so you can just load amps, or just effects, or whatever. An are there any dedicated vocal preamps available yet? Amplifiers aren't just for guitars ya know.

PreampliTube (don't worry, I don't get to name products)

Yeah they are Peter. They were mentioning using external vsts within amplitube, so I meant having the external vsts save inside the program. Luckily I'm down to a basic compressor, so it's not a big deal anymore. There was a time when I tried external cabs, but the new ones in amplitube are fantastic, so I don't worry with the wav files anymore.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy overall with what I see in the new version of 4. Basically, I agree that in the future it would be nice to have a module for using third party plugins like Revalver does. I would even pay extra for it or buy it as an extra module in the custom. I'm pretty sure a lot of other people would as well.

As far as amps, I like the the lineup pretty much but again love the high gain stuff so hope for one day a Rivera collection, Diezel, VHT/Fryette, Framus (Dragon/Cobra), Krank, and maybe even a Bogner XTC.

Yay, well count me in the club that preordered. Well, I tried to. There seems to be some network issue between me and the CS server. I had that orange screen saying the points would be deducted but the process timed out twice, I closed CS, reopened and how it just hangs. This isn't an issue because I was preordering, right? Before that CS was working just fine. The rest of my network is functioning properly.

Edit: rebooting doesn't help, I just get a logging in screen that hangs, eventually followed by a plain black window.

OK, I got in finally, my account had 116 credits, now it has 16, but I don't see A4 listed anywhere under my gear, and on the website it doesn't mention my order either. I didn't get a confirmation email either. How does a preorder product show up in your account exactly?

I have the same question. In my user area "My Products" and "My Orders" show nothing. The only evidence that I pre-ordered A4 is in my "JamPoints". It shows I received 8 points for pre-ordering A4.

Under "collections" in the cs shop, it should now say "owned" instead of "buy" for this pre order.

Ah thanks! It actually says 'Owned' for me ;) Well, I'm sure glad that is sorted, I guess the other stuff will update in time. I did send in a support ticket so maybe they did something too. Now we just wait for October.

Congrats, I'm rolling the dice and waiting 3 weeks to buy it and hope it's still on sale. I've missed every IK sale and have bought all my gear piece by piece. I don't want to see how much I've spent on this stuff :phones:

:o How is that even possible?
