After reading a thread on Sylenth & Hive, I haugh to laugh that I bought Iris 2 several months ago for well more than Logic--
...and Apple's inclusion of Alchemy out of the box (for under $200, $29 for Mainstage) has promted some of these sales too I believe. I see that iZotope has reduced Iris 2 by 50%, and of course there have been direct comparisons given Alchemy's Spectrogram.
Often Omnisphere and Alchemy are directly squared off in a similar fashion. MacProVideo calls the latter "The Most Powerful Synth on the Planet:" http://www.macprovideo.com/tutorial/wha ... pro-x-10-2
And Iris 2 costs *almost* as much as Logic -- ON SALE!

If I were you, I would not wait standingmusiclover55547 wrote:Perhaps with Apple's iOS 9 Audio Unit inclusion, we'll see dramatic reductions on all such software.
Given the iPhone & iPad both use the same iOS, I'd imagine you could conceivably port around a well developed Neve on your iPhone-- sold at a fraction of what many current developers charge-- without the d*mn iLock Dongle!
1. We still have to see what kind of AU is going to be supported, and how.
2. The best plug-ins/instruments are so demanding on CPU that I doubt a mobile device will have the "muscle" to run them together with a host.
3. I am not seeing developers that ask like $300,00 for a plug-in like Neve (I am thinking in Steinberg Portico, but I am in doubt if you meant Neve or Nave?) running to port it to iOS to charge peanuts for them. Besides, that will question their business model.
The sooner you realize that a mobile device (especially with a crippled OS like iOS) will never be on pair with a real computer, the better for you

I emphatically disagree. The iPad Pro will have plenty of horse power. Existing models do too, as evidenced by PSP releasing some of its plugins for Auria -- and FabFilter too.
Sure beats the dongle, and look at what Tony Klaghelm is doing with MJUC. On Gearslutz, there's all sorts of banter comparing his business model with Steven Slate's.
The iPad (or even iPhone after the 5S) entry price sure beats an iLok Dongle.
And yes, I did mean Neve, not Nave.
