HI,

I need a WiFi amplifier or booster but of my existing WiFi.

I bought one of the Netgear wireless router/amplifier but the problem is it installs its own WiFi and messes up my connection in the house.

So my question is, does anybody know what kind of a device to get that will simply amplify MY WiFI signal that is coming from the opposite part of apartment?

Many thanks in advance

Google "setup (your netgear router model) as a wireless repeater". Follow instructions, enjoy. Most routers can do this, but they won't do it without some setup work.

Thanks Shawn,

I wish you answered a while back, I solved the problem by getting a "repeater/ampli" from the same company, Netgear (WN3000RP) all it does it asks for my existing wifi password and works great. Only plugs into wall socket of 220VAC-no cables, just point the rabbit ears.

cheers

Hi,

I really wouldn't recommend wifi for recording/engineering/mixdown due to the latency although I'm sure it's fine for casual listening.
