I mentioned this in another thread, but I figured it was specific enough to warrant a thread. I'm very interested in sounds that use osc feedback and audio rate modulation. There's no demo to download, so I'm relying on the kindness of strangers. :hihi:

What I'm hoping for is something along the lines of the quality in Monark, which really is the only thing that does those things as I like them to sound. I'm more or less trying to make something with the basic architecture of Monark but with more modulation and filter options.

Blocks are running at audio rate, even modulation. Feedback is of course also possible.

you probably know there is the monark oscs, eg and filter blocks in R6 so you would probably enjoy R6 a lot :D

there is a other great osc block (the blue one), a bit limited but would not be surpised it get "modded ", the paul filter is great ,the Sallen-Key and and driver block are good too and more...the bento osc to me is the most vanilla/reaktorish sounding but it's the most complex one i think , great stuff ..

I guess my question is, what does that sound like? I imagine on Monark it's just not a feed back into the osc, but some emulation of how the circuits are dealing with being overdriven... or do the blocks have that emulation built into them? Sorry to be naive. No demo and I'm still not totally acquainted with blocks. I'm thinking of them as modules in something like Vaz Modular.

Also, would there be a way to rip the osc section out of a wavetable ens and turn it into a block to create something like a software Pro 2?

i'm uploading a fourth right now, which is a simple sequence that i was playing around with.

yes the feedback is built in the block as well as the load parameter

if you are familiar with ni driver sound you get a idea of the sound caractere , there is a family sound imo in some of the library blocks ,a sort of thickness .

That some good analog modular madness there!

damn sound great, on some part it really sound hardwarish/analog WOW when the audiorate mod come in and resonant filtering from 1.25 to the end.

your acid driver demo on souncloud, is it the driver block? if yes damn it sound good, really analogish.. if that is reaktor 6, i can t wait to be more familiar with it.. my first impression was good but i was not much wow ..really need to spend more time with it :D

hell yeah. i have no idea what they're doing under the hood, but NI really does have some "next level" stuff going on lately. overall, nothing else out there has quite the same "3-Dimensional liveliness" that i'm finding so upfront in Driver, Monark, Blocks, and (from my short time with it) Rounds. i was never really into their synths until Razor and Prizm, and then with Driver i thought they were really onto something. they've been putting out sonically top-notch stuff ever since, which also happens to look beautiful for the most part.

actually, no, sorry. that was Odo's '38911bytes V3' (brilliant synth) doing a squidgy acid line, run through the regular NI Driver fx filter. the acid line was evolving a bit on its own with LFOs, but i was mainly just playing with the controls on Driver. the thing just totally FREAKS out without really sounding "bad", i've never heard much else like it in software (besides Monark and R6). unfortunately, the R6 Driver Block doesn't seem to have the same wild character of the stand-alone fx version. you can crank the res on the Driver Block and it reacts pretty normal. the other goes nuts above 3-4 with some settings.

i compared them briefly and i think it s a sample rate thing, the sound can change quite a lot depending the rate it run.
Your driver demo sound great the sound is really impressing !

Sandy Small has already posted a Microwave block using Waldorf wavetables in the user library

I think upgrading to Reaktor 6 is going to be my next "money spent on me" target. I'm using R5 more and more lately, and the blocks modularity in R6 is something I've wanted for a long time.
