And that's psytrance. Wich is a bit distracting since I love it, I want to do it in my heart but reasoning says that "meh.. there will be no money in it. Learn to do something that will sell". So I've been trying to do some house but those I've done generally sucks. Hard.

Of course I also love electrohouse and those osc2 +7 semitones gliding and pumping basses, and breakstep and hardstyle (well love and love. I love all the music but those four are above all for me).

So my sound/direction in music is/should be something in the middle of those four.

Today I found this out when I tried to recreate one Aiyn Zahevs goa patch on hive. And I succeeded in it.. Not perfectly but well enough that I got a boner that almost broke my workdesk. Then I've almost finished 2 psy songs today and done A LOT of basses, fx, sequences.. And I've had more fun today than what I've had in a year or two. I found again that certain "whoops 4 hours just passed and it felt like 5 minutes" -feeling.

And now I'm confused.

I know, there's few of his patches in Hive that really inspires me to make trance, especially some of the arp's, classic sounds that remind me about what I really dig about it.

If that makes you happy, go for it, that's all that matters, I were bouncing around different genres all the time and kinda discovered I'm in love with slower stuff actually, deeper ,emotional, calm, really feel this stuff, nothing glitchy, dark and convoluted, just calm organic like sounds of instruments and surroundings, I realized that for sure after making friend cry listening to my short idea demo, he felt it, he was my inspiration for it and I touched his soul, feels priceless.

Okay, let's write more, since nobody replied, it's hard to make a money with music these days and even harder doing something not enjoying it fully, so don't limit yourself to anything, but don't take anything from yourself because of it, if you are into psytrance, go for it, there's nice scene and I can bet your local one is vivid too, so why not, just do the music you dig, because you like doing it and results will speak for themselves.

You can always do a side project, but do you first, do the thing you feel deep inside, there enough fake "making it big" stuff out there, there's plenty of flavor of month things, there's tons of people making music and chasing same stuff, so be you, give piece of yourself, not something you think people expect.
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

Actually making that slow stuff is pretty rewarding. Though I haven't done that for a loooooong time since my slow songs tend to be so full of bottomless sadness, sorrow and agony that people start to feel anxious and sick :D

I know. I used DJ for quite some time so I know it's possible to make a living from gigs. Of course now I hope that I could do that with my own music :D When it comes to "scene" in here, this town/city is dedicated to deathmetal and similar wrist slit "man music" :P But yeah you have a point there..

Yeah you have a point there too :D Of course I know that but guess I still need someone to tell me that before I believe it :hihi:

Lay of the agony and it's a good stuff :hihi:

There another thread where we made comparison between psytrance and metal, so who knows, maybe there's potential in there within that crowd, but anyways, you can than kick things off there, that's for sure something

Feel the same way about that, that's why I said all this, testifying that it's not crazy and it's an option. :ud:
