i would bet these libraries will be available in Komplete Ultimate 11 and not in Komplete 11 when it comes out... this crossover pricing is a cash grab for individuals that cant wait for Komplete ultimate 11... i.e. GAS...

I've been buying Komplete Ultimate for the past two years because, well, the other version was no longer Komplete. Its pretty insulting to us as customers to claim that they're selling us everything when in fact they aren't.

it's a bundle name. probably best not to take it too literally.

look at what's included in the bundle. look at the price. is the price a good price ? yes - buy it, no - don't.

when Komplete Ultimate came out I was hoping that really would include everything, i.e Maschine (software and/or bundled with hardware) and Traktor Pro. But no, it wasn't the case. A little disappointing but then again I didn't find it too difficult to get past the fact that Komplete is simply a catchy name for a bundle, which represents incredible value for money whatever way you dice it.

yep, a very possible scenario.

hmm ... I'm very interested in these. I don't have Ultimate, just Komplete. But, I'll give it a good listen. I'm a sucker for horn libraries.

What's going to be fun is when folks buy them on crossgrade and then they show up in K12 Ultimate :P

FWIW, I think there are two likely scenarios.

1 (most likely). There will be a new Symphonic expansion for either Komplete or Komplete Ultimate. This might only arrive when the rest of the range is available, so it might actually be a couple of years off. This would also make sense of the current crossgrade prices - it might well be a long time to wait for the whole shooting match.

2 (less likely). Komplete Ultimate will be retired, and a new product will take its place (Komplete Epik or some such thing). We'd probably see a few more current Ultimate-exclusives migrate to regular Komplete, and then a slightly higher price tier for Epik than for Ultimate (but with crossgrades of course).

The one thing I reckon is extremely unlikely is for Brass to remain standalone on an ongoing basis. It's in the Komplete section of the NI website - at some point it will be in Komplete SomethingOrOther.

I'm sorry that you are upset, but I have not read anywhere that all future products will be added into Komplete Ultimate upgrades. Can you post a link?

I think the most likely scenario is that they will create a parallel product bundle, Komplete Symphonic, which will only contain those instruments.

I've owned Komplete/Komplete Ultimate since version 2 and have upgraded every year. This year, however, was the first time that I waited until the 1/2 price upgrade was available before upgrading to KU10. KU10 really didn't have any real knockout offerings that distinguished it from KU9. Molekular is nice, but not essential. Kontour and Rounds are interesting, but not THAT interesting. And most of the remaining new products are versions of drum/percussion instruments which, again, are nice, but not essential.

IMHO, NI are struggling to make the K/KU updates compelling. Reaktor 6 will certainly make KU11 an interesting buy, but what other goodies will justify the annual hit? I don't do enough scoring to make a 'premium' product like the Symphonic series worthwhile (especially at the asking price). As it is, the existing premium string/horn packages in Komplete are more than enough firepower for most users. But like the Heavyocity packages, I predict that this new series will, eventually make it into the Komplete products. Maybe not the upcoming version, but eventually.

I'm just annoyed that Traktor is actually software for DJing ... given the name, I was expecting a large agri-diesel powered vehicle with which to plough fields.

+1 I'm disappointed too.

I had expected that using it with the D Beam on my Roland controller, I could play Star Trek for real, with a Traktor Beam :clown:
