Is Hive capable of more sounds than Sylenth?

Z3TA really has some nice EDM factory presets. Just wondering, but is there an artist or a track from which it is known that there's been Z3TA heavily used? Said on Cakewalk's website that Z3TA has "tailored" many of 2000's tracks.

That's certainly one factor.themachinelt wrote:Sylenth1 was one of the first (actually first in this case) easy to use intuitive and top notch quality virtual analog emulation on a computer. It just says it all. Its a classic. Kinda like Roland JP got famous with its supersaw & trance music hype.
Another factor was that the factory library consists almost entirely of sounds that many people recognised from some 90ies hits. Pretty much every significant sound of the trance/electro scene was in there as a preset, maybe even a bit more authentic than what was commonly available.

so no one's seen this I guessdo_androids_dream wrote:Sylenth can do around 4 sounds whereas Hive can do 6 iirc. None of them can do the bassoon though. Neither of them have a burglar alarm either.

There's a third LFO hardwired to Vibrato which can also be used for other things via the modmatrixIgro wrote:I'm not sure where. I demoed once, but i remember LFO1 on the left and LFO2 on the right.Urs wrote:It has three...Igro wrote:I wish Hive had a third LFO.

Just downloaded the demo again. I see now. But this one is quite basic (no waveforms and sync). Would be great to have switched tab on the left - LFO 1/2 and on the right - LFO 3/4. But i don't have Hive, so cannot complain. Still an amazing synth, wish i bought it during the promotion.

Back when I used to have Sylenth1, Lennard took a few of my requests for sounds used in songs by the prog-rock bands Yes, UK, and Rush. He duplicated them very well.Urs wrote:That's certainly one factor.themachinelt wrote:Sylenth1 was one of the first (actually first in this case) easy to use intuitive and top notch quality virtual analog emulation on a computer. Id be willing to bet it was in a ton of 2000-2006 era trance songs. I had a couple friends who were putting out tracks back then and they all used z3ta and so did other people on their label (at this point I cant even remember what that was)chk071 wrote:Z3TA really has some nice EDM factory presets. Z3ta was a no.1 vsti in 2002 till 2007 in trance, hardcore and house styles. I believe everyone who wasnt able to afford Virus had a Z3ta.ezelkow1 wrote:Id be willing to bet it was in a ton of 2000-2006 era trance songs.
